Which TV?

Sony: 4" bigger screen, weighs 20 more pounds
LG: Newer, better response time, 8,000 better contrast ratio, lighter

Here is an idea if it is financially feasible: buy both TVs, try them both out in your house, and if you don't see a dramatic difference in picture quality after properly adjusting both sets, keep the Sony for its bigger screen and return the LG. The home is the best place to test a TV, and since TVs aren't very cheap, it would probably be worth investing the time to feel really comfortable with your purchase.

Well right off the bat the LG has 15,000:1 contrast; the Sony has 7,000:1.. If it was the Bravia XGWA or whatever the top of the line sony lcd is then I might go with that [It's on Display w/ a blu-ray player at my local Sam's Club and it's fricking awesome]; based on the specs the LG looks like a better route because of the superior contrast ratio.

On a side note, don't buy shit from Circuit City, they're a bunch of assholes. They fired their top sales people [who also made the most money - gee I wonder why?], and then told them they can re-apply for their jobs in 3 weeks at horribly reduced rates.

I have the 40" version of the Sony. It's a great TV.

Contrast ratios are completely subjective, so I would not allow that to be a determining factor.

If it were me, I would go with the Sony. Have you considered a Samsung?

They are both really good TV's. I liek the Sony a bit more. I looked at them a while back and was very impressed with them. And that's a pretty good price. Check out Amazon to see it's any cheaper.

Curious why you are picking a LCD TV? Is it because you cant control the lighting in that area? Or is it because you plan to play games on it? As much as I hate how overprice Sony are, most of the LG I seen arent good. Pick the Sony.

Went with the LG. It was $100 cheaper. I love it so far.

Rattatouille was awesome on it.

I'm all about quality over quantity. After the last six months of problems that I've had with the Polaroid TV, I decided quality was better.

Should have told yourself that when you chose a Polaroid for a TV
