WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Three major electronics manufacturers have agreed to plead guilty to a price-fixing conspiracy and pay $585 million in criminal fines for their roles in the pricing of LCD display panels, the Justice Department said Wednesday.
The department announced the charges following a settlement with Sharp Corp. of Japan; LG Display Co. (LPL) of South Korea and Chunghwa Picture Tubes of Taiwan.
The charges were filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, Calif., and announced by the assistant attorney general for antitrust at the Justice Department in Washington

I made that comment because there was a time when flat sceen TVs were something only the wealthy can afford... but now, you can be working $8.00/hour and can afford it... I guess pointing out the fact that he was Hispanic was uncalled for... and I apologize for that.

Regardless of the dropping prices, if you are making a living by making taco's, you probably shouldn't be splurging on flat screen televisions. It just goes to show how much our country is consumer driven. Whether he bought it with cash or credit, if Taco Bell is his or his families main line of support, I have a feeling there are much better things he could've put that money towards. Even if that means just putting it in savings.

My comment had nothing to do with the fact that he was hispanic.
