Should I take the plunge?
Sony Bravia SXRD KDS-55A3000 55" 1080p Rear Projection HDTV for
$1,649.99 + Free Shipping from Amazon.
Been researching this TV....I like it alot....should I pull the trigger?
It's basically a $500 discount?
Is SXRD the way to go versus DLP...I think so...anyone else?

I've had a 50" Sony RPLCD for about 3 years now (bought at twice that price) and it's still running strong. Can't really compare against other technologies, though.
Not really sure this should have any bearing on your decision, but FWIW, Sony is exiting the RP business in favor of LCD and OLED technology.

Though I think you can get a better set at a better discount. I would also look into the LED DLPs. I think Samsung makes 2 sizes right now.

Buying a set without it is foolish.
