Samsung BD-P1200 Blu Ray

Just picked one up tonight from best buy as an open box for $315. Doesnt come with a remote, so I'm hoping that the remote from my Samsung 4095 LCD will be able to control both. It seems that it should. I guess if not I might return or just pay 30 bucks and order one online. Either way I feel like I got a pretty good deal. I said I would go bluray if I could find a player for $300ish. So, now I have both I finally get to watch all the movies. Damn the studios and their war.

In your own opinion is there a big difference in picture quality, between HD-DVD & Blue Ray? I'm thinking of getting the HD-DVD drive for the 360

I think the original bluray releases look bad because of using mpeg2. But now that they all use the same codecs its all pretty even. At some point bluray has the potential to trump hd because of the higher disk storage.

If you have HDMI on your xobx then do it. I do. but if not, get a player with hdmi...they very inexpensive at this point.

Ahhh..... I see. I have the Elite (HDMI) Theres so much more movie titles in BlueRay. I'll probably get one down the line, but for now... I think the HD-DVD will suffice.... thanks..... +Reps to you!
