New Plasma

I'm ready to get rid of my SXRD DLP for a flat screen for my new house and have narrowed everything down to two panels: Pioneer PRO-111FD or Panasonic TC-P54V10. I have read a lot of reviews and it seems like everyone likes both panels very much (with most stating that the Elite is top notch). I will be using the panel as follows:

-In a fairly bright room (living room with numerous windows) about 8-10 feet away
-For now, it will be the main TV, used for HD content, BR, and the very occasional PS3 game.

In y'alls opnion, is the Pioneer worth the extra bucks or should I save some dough and stick with the Panasonic?

I'd go with the Panny. My parents had a Panasonic 37" plasma that was purchased in December of 2000....they just replaced it and gave it to my brother and the picture still looks as good as the day it was installed.

I've had a Panasonic plasma for a little over a year and I like it a lot. I wouldn't hesitate recommending one. IIRC, Panasonic makes the panels that the Pioneers use, the difference in the sets being processing and adjustability. If you're a choosy videophile, you may be happier with the Pio, but for everyday use the Panny is great for the money.

You may want to consider an LCD in your application (living room with numerous windows) because plasmas do tend to pick up glare and reflections.
