DTV box hookup?

Brother-in-law just got a Sony XBR9 and the delivery guys hooked up his DTV, non-hd, non-dvr box with a simple coax cable. Would it improve PQ to use composite cables? I know s-video would be better, but I don't have one of those lying around.

Six of one, half dozen of the other. That's a mighty fine set! Tell him to get an HD box!!! Or at least an antenna to pick up the HD locals.

Yeah HD box and HDMI cable would do the trick. It's a waste to have an XBR9 with no HD input. You can upgrade the box to HD for $100 through DirectTV or through a big box store for the same price. It also comes with a 10 foot HDMI cable.

Little if any difference in PQ. Setup the BD player we gave him for Xmas and he was impressed, me too! ATT U-verse is being brought to his area and he is waiting for that for his HD source.
