I've always wanted one... and the cards were just in the right place this weekend to get one. Best Buy has interest free until 2009. Plus the TV was on sale, I got rebates for it, plus a $100 NFL.com gift card, and free shipping (will be here Wednesday). In addition, I had a couple hundred in Reward Zone gift certificates from all of the other purchases we've made (everything, TVs, audio, appliances, etc. has been purchased from BB), so that helped as well. And since I'm partial to Samsung (love their DLPs), ended up going with the Sammy Plasma. Did some reviews, checked them out in the stores, and loved their picture... so we took the dive.
We're not going to wall mount it yet... going to wait on that. For now it will just be on a console in the bedroom. We want to do an electric fireplace in the bedroom, so once we decide on that (probably won't be for a year or so as we other other fish to fry first), then we'll wall mount it above the mantle.
Anyway, here's the link... Wednesday can't get here soon enough!!

Sweet. My plasma comes on Wednesday too. I went with a NEC 42XR4.
I paid $1000 under MSRP, shipping included.

Heard that its pretty heavy though...was worried how i would move it if i bought it

Yeah, 94 pounds is a bit heavy. We'll need to find some wall studs when we mount it
. My Samsung 50" DLP is lighter then that (around 84 pounds). No biggie though, once they deliver it we won't be moving it for a while

I've had a 50 inch Panny plasma for 18 months or so and love it. I know that y'all are loving CC and BB but I've got to put my plug in for visualapex.com. I got my Panny for almost half what CC/BB were selling them for. That was also waaaay back in the day when a 50 inch plasma was going for 8-9K in the stores. Granted you don't get the interest free deal, gift cards, etc., but I got a great deal on my rig and am thrilled with it.

They do have some killer prices on projectors... so I'll have to keep them in mind since that won't be financed, that will just be purchased. Thanks for the heads-up!!
There are plus an minuses to going mail-order and brick/morder.
Mail order will save you cash up front, but good luck returning a set you don't like. BB will take back a set for 30 days for any reason. If you get a stuck pixel from most mail order places you are "stuck" with the TV.
If they sell the particular TV you like, I think the best place to get a TV is Costco. How can you go wrong with a "bring it back anytime" return policy?

I've been looking at Sammy's 42" and 50" plasmas as well.
No interest until 2009 sounds appealing. I don't know if it's worth the extra cost of BB though... :\
The 42"is $560 cheaper to the door from TVAuthority.com. The 50" is only $310 cheaper incl shipping.
But TVAuthority also has the all black models available... Best Buy only has the silver models.
Tough choices.
Will Best Buy match the TVAuthority price?

As for those who are worried about buying over the net- I cannot recommend visualapex enough. I am a very suspicious Jersey guy and I had no issue giving them my credit card number (knowing that I had some protection using that anyway). They called when they knew the delivery date and then again day of delivery and a week after to check and see if I was happy. Therefore, I'd be very surprised if they would have given me any flak about returning it. There are countless testimonials on avsforum for visualapex. I can honestly say that I won't shop around too much for my next tv purchase- I'll be calling/emailing Candi at visual apex!

. I have a bunch of prices printed up that I'll be bringing in. I read the fine print on the price matching, and it's vague at best, so I'm going to just go in this weekend. If my BB doesn't do it I'm going to go into another one that's closer to my parents. Bunch of morons work there, so I'm thinking it may slip by at that location....And if they don't, I'll just bring the TV back and buy online, then transfer it to one of my interest free cards. No sweat off my sack. I'd be willing to bet they'll work something out with me (maybe some money off and a gift card) if I just say OK, I'll just bring it back then. That tactic has worked in the past, and we've spent so much money there since almost everything electronic in our house is from there, that they usually work with me....

That's what they told a friend of mine who recently bought a DLP.
Werent you guys paying attention?
The 42" Samsung is only $1,870 shipped from TVAuthority.com... which is arguably the best television retailer on the net (recommended by every a/v forum).

As a side note... I was reading BB's price matching warranty. All it says is that they will honor prices from local stores, and to bring in proof in print of their pricing. Now, I'm sure they will argue that an internet store is not local, however, my argument back to them will be... what can be more local then an internet store? I mean, I don't even need to leave the house to shop, I can still get an in-home extended warranty, and I don't have to pay tax.
So hopefully between that logic and the fact that we've made a lot of purchases from there I will be all set. If not, I'll just return the TV, buy it online, and transfer the balance to my interest free card

We'll see what happens. Planning on going this weekend... probably Saturday morning.

My thought is the discounted price is a result of taking on the added risk by buying over the web.

Calibration is not rocket science. Get the Sound & Vision calibration disc if the other discs confuse you, it's alot more clear cut.

FYI, I got the TV this afternoon. Man, it looks AWESOME. It was funny b/c the cable box was on "regular" ESPN b/c we had a little TV in there temporarily last night. So they turned it on, and I'm like, that looks pretty good. But once I get the HDMI cable (should be here today or tomorrow), it will look even better. Then the guy pushed the down arrow key on the cable remote, and I realized it was regular ESPN. When I told him what channel ESPN-HD was, he flipped to it... and all at once all three of us went... whoaaaaaaaa. lol, pretty funny.
The picture is awesome. I only tweaked it a bit b/c I had to get back to work, but I have 4 different settings I got from the AVSForum... so I'll mess with it tonight and find one that I like the best....

Oh, I agree.. internet overhead is much less then brick and mortar. Why do you think I never opened up a shop

But we've spent almost $15k there since May of 2005, so they've been pretty good with us. I know they won't match the price exactly, but they may do something. Last time I wanted a price match from an internet store on a receiver they couldn't give me the full amount (which I think was like $95 or so), but they gave me a $50 gift card... which is better then nothing (b/c I still get the advantage of their killer financing, plus the certificates from the Reward Zone, so in the end I'm still in good shape).
Plus, my theory is.... it doesn't hurt to ask. Costs nothing to do that, right??
