Question HDMI cable. Help please...

So I got a couple of new toys for the holiday.

I need some HDMI cables. My cable company gave me one for my HD box. But the quality seems ok.

What are some bang for the buck cables. I cant justify spending $100 on a 2 meter Monster Cable.

I found a Nyko Cable but it says its for a PS3. Would that matter? ITs still a HDMI cable.

Then theres this kit.

I really worried about the audio, because I have a optical cord going from the TV to the receiver.

Any Help?

What they said. Great prices and decent cables.

Put a gun in your mouth and pull the trigger if you bought Monster Cables.

Don't really. But just ponder the idea for a while.

my sugestion, get the 28 gauge ones, the 24 is insanely heavy and can break the ports off of your stuff. If you do get the 24, buy some port savers from monoprice.

OK got it all from Monoprice.. Wow the prices are great. Got 2 HDMI, 1 Optical, 1 PC cable. For $35 shipped.

I did get the 24awg. If the weight is to much I was going to make something to hold the wire on the wall. So all the weight is not on the port from the wiring hanging.

-1 for monoprice. Bad experience with multiple HDMIs from them.

I'd go Amazon.

I actually had a bad experience with the Amazon HDMI. I returned 2 of them.

those insulated hdmi's are really heavy duty. for the price you can't beat it. I am having pic quality issues on my samsung dvd player, and samsung suggests that it may be a cable. When i get off my lazy ass, i'll buy some new ones to see if there are any problems with one of the current sets.

I had these and the picture was really fuzzy. It looked cleaner on component cables.

I noticed the 28gauge one was on sale today for $2.00 for a 3 feet. Just ordered 2 of those along with a port saver.

The ones I got from Amazon were made by Cables To Go, and one by Sony. Both have been fine.

The monoprice's I had trouble with were the really heavy weave-sheathed ones. They went bad at the connectors. Unless you have a lot of room for a nice gentle bend radius at each connector, I think you're asking for trouble with the heavy ones.

I've only seen them used on power cables. A lot of times some piece of equipment will come with them and tell you to clamp them to the power cords. The cores were probably needed to get through UL certification.
