Is this a good deal for two SVS Subs and Sampson amp?

I found Two SVS 20-39 CS Plus Subs plus a 1000 watt Sampson amp locally. Used of course.

Seller wants $850 for the 2 subs and amp, worth it? I know nothing about that sampson amp.

For two new shipped to me would be $918.

Would be connected to a Denon 2308 btw.

How large is the room that you want to put this in?

The reason I ask is you may only need one sub.

Wonder if he would just sell one, but then how much would a amp to power it cost? Only reason i was debating both is since its a package deal and local. No shipping costs.

The room is maybe 1200sq.

Your TV room is 1200 sq. ft? That's 30 feet by 40 feet.

well thats how big the whole room is, but i guess its more important to mention that the TV/couch portion is about 16ft by 18ft.

How many watts is that amp? A single self powered SVS would come with a 325W amp.

If I were you, I would call SVS and see what they say you need. They have a very good sales staff.

OK i bought them. Got him down to $800.

Ed from SVS told me it was a great deal and not to pass it up. I was impressed how honest he was.

This is the samson amp... http://brandnamez.com/merchant.ihtml...ffNo=492452167

Also, just make sure you visually and audibly inspect them before you hand over the cash. It's very easy for someone to drop a gallon of whatever down the tube of these things.

You need to consider the "whole" room that the system will be enclosed in. Also you want to look at cubic ft. The setup you have will be more than enough and in all honestly you'll probably never need to crack it (again this is depending on the level of bass you enjoy). I know the warranties on the subs are transferable so make sure you get everything Kosher with SVS. They just need to orginal purchasers information.

Keep us posted on how you like them. I guess I saw this thread a bit late but I do know that this is a combination I've seen when I was looking for a SVS sub. I ended up going with a boxed active.

I'm sure this will put loads of bass in your room. I hope you have a house!!!

good deal man...
THAT AMP IS KILLER except, i wanna ask you when you turn that amp on, do fans run?

cuz samson and that amp is a DJ brand which is good quality, but the fans to keep it running cool might be noisy and troublesome to keep having to turn the unit on every time you use it

wish i had a samson amp for my gigs actually
