Cheap DVD player that has DVi Output?

I'm looking for a base DVD player (progressive scan would help, but not required) that has a DVI output. Something under $100 would be ideal, but I can stretch a little. Any suggestions?

didnt even know dvd players had dvi support...

alternatively, you could get a dvd player with HDMI, and use an HDMI-to-dvi cable, or HDMI-to-DVI adapter

seriously though, its a video output format. Modern computer monitors have DVI because its digital, not analog, and so tends to carry the signal better

Wal Mart sells a HDMI dvd player for $80 and comes w/ a HDMI cable.

You get what you pay for though.

For a DVD player with HDMI output Audioholics picked the Samsung DVD-HD850 for their recommended budget system.

You can pick it up for $100 and spend a little on HDMI cable.

I buy all my cables from there and they are top quality. 6' HDMI cable should be able to be had for $20 or so shipped.... and their service is excellent as well!

Keep in mind also that DVI doesn't carry sound, so unless you're running this through a receiver where you'd need to run separate audio cables anyway, HDMI is the way to go. One digital cable from the DVD player to the TV and that's it...

DVD only outputs 720 lines of resolution, so HDMI and DVI are of no benifit. Some DVD players claim up conversion to 1080, but it's bunk. Stick with regular DVD players with component video.

I'm over the Denon 1920. The 2910 is a bit out of my price range.

You mean DVD(s) are natively 480p of resolution. ie. 720x480 they have 480 lines of verticle resolution.

480p= 720x480
720P= 1280x720
1080i=1920x1080

I'm about to pull the trigger on the 2910. I've seen them for around $500.

For that money why not just wait for HD-DVD or BlueRay?

True, although some are encoded 480p. Most (99%) are deinterlaced to create 480p since they as you said and encoded 480i.

I was more trying to hit on the fact they dont have 720 lines as he said.
