Anyone else getting an audio delay with NBC-HD?

...I started to notice back durning the Olympics... (and also the show "the Office")there was a delay on the audio... I feel like I'm watching an old Kong Fu flick... and I'm NOT getting this delay with the other HD stations... (no delay on the none-HD NBC either), it's annoying as hell... anything I can do about this?

...anyone else?

Anything you can do? Nope.

Their broadcast is being sent out of sync.

call the cable company and ask why NDC-HD is sent being sent with the sound out of sync from the picture.

I have not noticed a problem on Comcast.

Are you running your sound through an AV receiver?

They had problems during the Olympics, but that was the only time I've seen a problem with NBC-HD... and since I didn't watch much of the Olympics, it didn't really bother me...

FYR, I have Time Warner in Charlotte, NC.

...I'm using an optical cable from the HD cable box to the A/V receiver...

I have seen complaints about audio sync problems over at avsforum.com. Some AV gear has the ability to fix this, but most don't. For the hell of it, it would be intersting to see if the sound is delayed when played from your TV's speakers.

But I think you are just going to end up having to bitch at your cable company.

Just for shits and giggles...try running digital coax instead of optical and see what happens.

Weird... I'm using an optical cable also (from the STB to the receiver) and haven't seen any problems. Best to call your provider and start bitching at them...

There are certainly "issues" outstanding with HD video/audio syncing. I havent' noticed it on the national feeds, but through DirecTV, DiscoveryHD is almost unwatchable at times. It's certainly a DTV issue, however.

Just an FYI... I watched the Office and My Name is Earl last night (which is pretty much the only time I watch NBC) and there were no problems. I pretty much watch these two shows everyweek and have never seen a lip synch issue.

So if you saw some problems last night, it's either your local cable company or your local NBC affiliate....

...and Sarlacc... I did that thing you said (just for giggles) and it was still off...

I wouldn't rule out the local affiliate too... NBC Chicago seems to be asleep when the flip from SD to HD. I wish I had a nickle for every time the idiots at the station forgot the "flip the switch".
