Any Audiophiles?

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for HiFi headphones before I drop some $ on the Sennheiser HD595s. Been looking at Grado SR125s also, but these seem much more comforatable. I already own UE Super.Fi Pro 5s for IEMs. Just need something comfy for around the house and not in ear.

Under $200. I found an awesome price for the HD595s. Going to a store that said they can beat $160 tomorrow morning (these things retail for ~$290). I'm hoping to trade in my Shure e3c's also, so I'll probably get them for $110ish.

I got some sr225's used for 140, I really like the sound of them. But man open air stuff I have to turn pretty much every fan in the house off to really show a difference over my sony mdr-v700 dj thingies.

I think if I were spending the money again I would go with the shure e3c's as being able to block out sound on a airplane and sound great at the same time suits my needs a bit better than sitting in a chair in a quiet room.

I ran a set of Sennheisser HD 600's off a Musical Fidelity X-CANN amp with Clou Red Jaspis interconnects for a couple years and I have to say it's probably the most musical setup I've ever heard. I sold the whole setup a few years ago to fund my photography addiction, but I think I'll get another set someday down the road.

Not to hijack the thread but what do you guys think the best headset is for excellent crisp sound...

I've tried many headsets and for the last year i've been very pleased with Bose's QuietComfort 2s, I've enjoyed them so much i'm most likely going to get there new QuietComfort 3s just released last week.

But before I do convince me there are is a better headset out there...

The Senn's are extremely crisp but they are an open ear design meaning they don't do anything to block outside noise. It's kind of like having a set of speakers floating next to your head. If you're going to be using them in a noisy environment, definitely look at a set of closed headphones instead.

I have the e3c's. Used them for about 10 months. They have awesome mid and highs, but they really lack low end. Bought some super.fi 5 pro's and couldn't be happier (just hate the guide wire). They beat the snot out of them sound wise (due to the dual driver albeit). You just kinda get lost in the music. I'd defintely recommend them if you're looking for monitors.
