Thanks, sasha! I am indeed very excited to watch it change! No new pics, though I did go out yesterday to look. The roof now has tar paper, and they've framed out the upstairs rooms. Also have completed framing the screened porch and added the front porch & roof. I'll post some pics next week.

Finally remembered to snap a couple of phone pics when I went out yesterday...

The roof is tar-papered and flashed. They're just waiting for the chimney to be parged before they start the shingles. Also, the screened porch is framed now, and they finally put the wall up over the master bathroom.

The front porch wraps around to connect to the screened porch. There will be a screen door both on this side and on the back side to walk out onto the deck.

I love the evening light in the great room.

Future office space, looking out from the studio space. Love the large windows they were able to accomodate due to the grade.

This little guy was hanging out near the screened porch. He has good taste, that's my favorite spot, too.

Thanks, guys! They are speeding along. Our builder called the framers off the last couple of days because they're ahead of schedule and won't have the windows & doors in until next Thursday. There's some scaffolding in the back where they'd need to work to frame the deck.

I want my deck!

I have no idea why it's framed that way.

Not too much noticeable progress, but we have stairs, a parged chimney, and shingles.

Dancer, that part that bumps out to the left of the front door would look awesome if it was finished with a stone face.

something like this....granted Im sure the price point might not be in the budget though.

We just met with the electrician on Monday to go over placement of switches, fixtures, & outlets. We can't finalize fixture placement until after the kitchen designer finishes her layout so we know where the pendants go and how many under-cabinet lights, etc.

Though, I'll probably have another contractor install the under-cabinet lights. This guy wants $127 PER light! That's twice as much as each recessed light. My ex & I installed them in my current kitchen and the were very inexpensive and easy to do. That price seems exorbitant to me.

The builder said the plumber will start soon.

The HVAC guy hasn't done a damned thing since the last round of pics I posted last week. The framers may have been in his way doing the stairs Wednesday, but I don't know where he's been the rest of the week. I went by yesterday and nothing had changed. Granted, it was hot as blazes with a heat advisory posted. I wouldn't have wanted to work out there yesterday either.

That is gorgeous, but yes, probably too far outside our budget. Eventually, I'd like to add stone along the entire exposed foundation. The "finished" portion of the house will just have Hardie Plank siding.

That is very similar to the stone we plan to use on the fireplace surround, though. At least on the living room side. We haven't talked about the bedroom side yet, but imagine we'll do the same.

Wow that looks really nice. I love the picture of the front of the house where you can see the driveway. It looks very peaceful out there. I could live in a place like that. Good job, keep the pics coming along.

I believe in paying a fair price for things without nickel-and-diming people, but that one raised my eyebrows. He's not charging nearly as much for the wall sconces, pendants, or pot lights. We had a guy do lots of work on the house we sold. He's not a licensed electrician, but is a licensed/insured contractor who has done a lot of electrical work. I wouldn't have him wire the whole house, but I'm quite sure he'd do that piece of it at a much more reasonable price.

It mostly irritates me when people assume a consumer will just sign off on something with no due diligence and no idea what things actually cost.

He didn't say that..I just don't know where he went. Our builder indicated the guy would probably be out there all weekend last weekend (and during the week), but he hasn't done a damn thing since last Friday.

yeah, my inlaws have the fireplace in the living room in the weekend house finished with that type of stonework. At this house the entryway, and teh rear staircase out of the house are stone, Ive only looked at them 21389567 times, but damned if I can say for sure.....I think its all field stone, looks gorgeous. Damn pricey though, fil told me that 20 years ago when he built the house it cost him 10K for the rear stairs

Wowser. My mom's husband actually had a stonemason come out to cut stone on their property for his fireplace. We have a TON of stone on this property. Lots of different types...considering looking into the same. We already have someone coming out to mill a couple of the oak trees that were cleared into wood for the mantles.

Stopped by on my way home from work to remind myself why we're working our asses off to move into a tiny apartment for the next 4 months.

HVAC guy has made great progress, we have some windows and doors installed, and they've started framing 2 of the 3 back decks. Progress!

I didn't take many pics..will wait until all the windows are in, but this has the start of the 2 decks showing. The windows along the main level in the back will all have transoms to match the sliding door.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/moxiephotos/7463824146/http://www.flickr.com/photos/moxiephotos/7463824146/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/moxiephotos/, on Flickr

We also got a lot of fill dirt in, but still need another 35-40 truck loads. The kitchen design has been finalized, and I've started ordering a lot of fixtures and tile and stuff.

If you weren't so disgustingly obese, I'd recommend dressing all slutty and walking around the property in the middle of the day to get the guys motivated, but yeah..

Dropped by after dinner last night (not much light) and was excited to see they had started the siding & trim!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/moxiephotos/7514486932/http://www.flickr.com/photos/moxiephotos/7514486932/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/moxiephotos/, on Flickr

They also started the knee-wall on the screened porch...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/moxiephotos/7514487318/http://www.flickr.com/photos/moxiephotos/7514487318/ by http://www.flickr.com/people/moxiephotos/, on Flickr

They've also framed the rest of the decks and placed all the windows and doors except the front door, which will be done toward the end to prevent damage. Same with the Trex. The builder said he'd do that much later so things don't fall on it and scratch it while they're doing the siding and trim work. Oh, we also have a kitchen window coming that will look into the screened porch, but they haven't cut it out yet. They've been waiting on the kitchen design plans to be finalized.
