Anyone else have a wine cooler/refrigerator?

Looks good. I plan to buy one in the next couple month, but I have not yet decided which one. What brand did you get?

Danby.

It's a 30-bottle, with dual temp zones.

Yep. I have a 48-bottle Electrolux:

Love it. Only problem is i can't keep it near full... my drinking pace is much swifter than my income pace.

Yea, we built in a 3x8 closet into a cooler racked for about 360 bottles with a Breezaire unit WKE 3000. Pella insulated doors and all vapor barrieredand insulated to spec.

iwawine.com has a plethora of crap to look at.

Good luck.

btw my in-laws grow syrah in russian river valley, so we have a pretty good connection for acquisitions and pricing

Drinking red wine you have far more of a need then otherwise.

Red Wine needs to be stored at a consistent and optimal temperature. And contrary to popular belief, it should not be stored nor served AT room temperature. It's too warm, you'll lose any fruit and be left with only acidity. Red Wine should be stored at about 55 degrees. At room temperature it will age 3-4 times as fast as it should. This could easily turn your wine to vinegar.

White Wine isn't meant for storage, it should be drank fresh... the sooner the better... and it should be cold... 45~ degrees.

White Wine would be fine in the fridge with 15 minutes to warm up before serving.

If you drink red, you need a cooler.

* note: I keep white, and mostly white in my fridge anyway. I drink it fast, and it keeps the supply from cluttering space in my fridge. Plus I don't need to warm it before corking.
