What Do You Keep Your Thermostat On?
What Do You Keep Your Thermostat On?
I keep mine at 74, and the bill for a two bedroom apartment was $80
I just move into my new apatment about 3 months ago, and I have vaulted ceilings in my kitchen and living room areas. I have to run the AC like a mofo to cool that place down, mainly bc its an upstairs apartment. Have those of you with vaulted ceilings learned any tricks or trades of how I can cool the apartment more efficently?

Programmable thermostat set anywhere between 68 at night to 74 in day when at work. Cuts down to 74 around 8am then cut on around 4pm to about 72, then 68 at 10pm. Last months bill was $52 and that for an 1800sf house.

We put ours off in the summer. In the winter we keep it at 21°C. Most Canadian households (excluding southern Ontario areas like the greater Toronto area), do NOT have A/C at all. If it gets really hot we just turn on a couple fans.

I've been in Ottawa a lot recently and it has been as hot as NJ, like 30degrees celcius, and Humid, I felt like I was in a Sauna when I left there Sunday.

Will bring the heat down from the vaulted ceilings too...reduce winter bills...circulate air during summer...
