Still working on the mechanicals. Should finish up next week, then inspection and off to insulation.

House is locked up, so I'll have to sneak in when the contractors are there...

What's the deal with all the conduit? Is it required by code there? Looks very nice and neat even though you won't see it.

First inspection Monday. Then insulation starts. Patio also starts next week.

Can see the beginnings of my man closet, too. Lots of cat6 in there.

Been super busy at work. House is fully enclosed, hardie planks are going on, patio is nearly complete and first coat of mud is on. Target move in is end of Jan. 2012.

Starting to paint, so the pictures won't look much different from last update. Floors go in next week, so that will be a more substantive update. They did start on the mailbox post. Surprise for my wife.

Couple of questions. What are you housing in the closet? Also, I can't tell but it doesn't look like there is an electrical outlet on the same wall as the CAT6. Whatever you are housing there, will require electric and it would suck to have to run an extension around the corner. Otherwise everything looks awesome. You must be getting excited now that you get to see it all coming together and not just on paper.

Everything is going in the closet. Control4, receiver, DTV receivers, mac mini, NAS, Sonos, switches and the list goes on...

As for power... SHIT, I forgot! Kidding. They ran 2-20amp circuits, so I should be covered. The outlets are on the wall to the right if you're looking at the closet. You can see the gang boxes in the above picture from 10/29.

I see them around the corner. Will there be a cabinet that goes all the way to that wall?

No, I'm putting in a 2-post, 45U rack. Nothing sexy.

I fully anticipate it will be a mess in there, but who cares. Gonna be sweeeeeeeeeet!

I thought I was going to see the trim guys, but to my surprise the cabinet installers were there. Wood floors are in.

Starting to get into the finish work. Cabinets are mostly in, trim guys were busy today, doors are all hung. Custom stairs in. Ended up going poplar for the stairs and railings, and of course oak for the landing and entire first floor. Hoping the different wood species add a bit of pizzaz and variation.

Funny thing is, my wife isn't crazy about it. But she hasn't seen it in person, outside of the slabs. Too late now.

Might be the last update until we close. Grabbed a few pics today... Lights are all in. Just in fishing up on the trim, getting door levers in, etc. Carpet this week, floor stain and cleaning the following. Close on Feb. 2.

Audio stuff is coming, will provide pics after close.
