Thoughts on Fisher Paykel Washer
I think my old "tank" is dying...time to replace it.
Looked at Fisher Paykel top-loader washer.
(No I don't want a front loader...PIA if you have to add or take things out during a cycle)
Thing looks brilliant....direct drive motor...no spindle...brushless motor...supposedly the most efficient "green" top loader in NA.
I understand they have great reviews as well.
Anyone own one, or know anyone who does?

They ave more expensive to fix than the American brands because of Fisher & Paykel's reliance on using overcomplicated electronics. I would suggest you purchase an American brand (Maytag or Frigidaire) They are as reliable, if not more, and much cheaper to repair due to the lower cost of parts

Know someone who had a Fisher Paykel Washer and Dryer. Washer works great, Dryer was nothing but problems. I myself have a Fisher Paykel Dishwasher and have never had a problem with it. Prolly better sticking with brands you know.

One thing to keep in mind - you have a warranty for 1 year and in most cases its a good idea to purchase an extended warranty on these appliances. If you don't, and require service, use a GE authorized servicer in your area, not GE themselves, this will save you a lot of money on a repair service call.

Good call, my mom got talked into one and the thing is always broken and repairs are expensive. Last I was at her house she was moving the thing into the barn for horse blankets to finish it off
