Thinking about new house..Need opinions

hey guys,
I am thinking about moving into a new house, and a new sub-division with brand new houses is my best bet for good home with best price. Heres a link to the home floor plans. Give me your opinions on it. And yes, all five rooms will be used due to lkarge family hat loves to visit from india.

What is the lot size?
That is a little more than in DFW.
One of my employees is building a 3700+ house on a 70x100 lot for ~300K.

That's a big house, but I don't really care for the layout.

Main things I don't like:
- Master is on the first floor adjacent to the family room - could be noisey if that is the "entertainment" room
- Master bath looks small for such a large house
- Closet in master is through the bath

I actually think the other 2 story has a little better layout. You could add the optional bedroom

Can't say I'm crazy about the layout either. That is the kind of stuff my engineering teacher wouldn't pass us on if we put in our "houses" we designed earlier this semester.

Is the house built, can you still talk to the architect?

Nope construction will start soon. The master being there doen't pose as a problem becuase we will be using the loft as our game room. The family room will be for when i come home from work and just want to watch some TV and relax. The loft is for when we have friends over and we play games and such. Also KB homes doesn't make structural modifications. As for the tub, in the drawings the rooms look small and so do the bathrooms, but the walk in closet is 11x 12, the master is 20x19, the other rooms are 12x15. It is quite big in person. Thanks for the opinions so far guys. BTW, this is near the LPGA golf couse and by the speedway, just 10 miles away for it.

My only comment would be that seems like an awfully large house for only 2.5 baths. If you're going to be using all of those BR's upstairs, one bath is not going to cut it.

Csmeance, is this the new sub being built near LPGA? If so that is the same area I am currently working on a deal to build a home. I would personally stay away from KB Home. I have a few friends from both the west coast and in FL. who have had bad experiences with them.

If you are looking in the general area of LPGA I would suggest checking out Masters Glen as well as Grande Champion which are both Engle Homes sites. Their lots are comparable in size and the quality is much better. They are across the street located on the LPGA golf course. They are not charging lot premiums now if you work the right angle.

Masters Glen is more "luxurious" and costly while Grande Champion which is right off of ISB heading towards LPGA is less expensive. Best of luck.

Its OK, but I really dont like the master bedroom and bath on the main floor. I guess they do that to cram in as many bedroom as possible.

Lot size is 160x100. They don't need to cram anything. The fact that it is waterfront is cool. How big is the lake? What kind of water sports/water craft can you use in the lake? Is there an option for a dock?

Sorry had to fix that because you would not even touch that in South Florida for under 600+
