Utilities?
first off...love that av...definitely one of the best parts of that movie
secondly, depending on the location, insulation, size, etc. However, on avg, I'd say it's probably around $100-150/month if it's just you for utilities.

Hmm not too bad. I am stuck in between saving for a year or saying fuck it and moving out and getting a studio. Never lived on my own and at 23 I feel like I am missing out on it. I have made posts about saving and its going well and all but damn is it not kosher to tell your girl "Yeah my moms sleeping, can't stop by" LMAO! Since AZine is my 24 hour hotline I always ask you guys.
We need more info to give you a reasonable estimate.
Which utilities are included-- water, trash, gas, electricity, phone, cable/dish, ISP?
Are some utilities separately billed by the provider, or do they all go through the apartment lessor?
Which area of the country?

I have a two bedroom apartment. I use my washer/dryer and the lights. Don't turn on the heat or a/c. The most expensive it has ever been was 33 dollars. I usually pay about 22. Lowest was 11.
This is gas/electric. Don't pay water. Add 50 for internet/tv.

Personally, I've been living at home and saving for about 1 1/2 years now and I definitely see where you're coming from. Granted, I'm in a little different situation since I'm getting married in September and I don't have much of a choice but to get an apt. I'd definitely take into account rent cost, income, expenses, etc. Even though it is a LOT nicer to be on your own with no one to worry about waking up or walking in...definitely make sure your finances are in order first.

It depends on where you live..
Around here (just asked some people who have apts)
$45 +/- for Water, Sewer, Garbage (some apt complexes include this in the rent)
$25 to 50 for electricity (depends on your weather and if you have gas or electric water heating)

I make about 26k a year...poor? yes. but I grad in aug so I might be making more in a few months. but when you consider a normal one bedroom is 600/m and studios can be had for cheaper then that it isn't that bad.
studio I am looking at is between 650-750 only other bills I have are an 80 buck a month cell and a 255 car payment. Make about 1600/m after taxes.

In FL, you'll probably use more electricity to run the A/C, and you might add in basic phone service for emergencies or as part of the cable/internet package.
Tenants generally aren't billed for water in apartment buildings with pools here in CA, and some apartments include the utilities (except the phone) in the rent so that tenants don't get bills from the various utility companies. I don't know how common that is in FL.
i have a small one bedroom unit and the electricity is 20-60 depending on the time of year. cable is 125. no land line, but the the 2 cells are 55-75. internet is networked from the office. i don't have to pay for anything except for the cheaper cell.
it's nice being a property manager

dang, hawaii has some of the most expensive electric charges in the nation.
Last month I used 431 KWH in my 2 bedroom apartment.....cost $85 just for electricity.
Good thing we get free water, gas, and cable.
I do spend another $45 for internet.....
In california, i would average about $75 for electric, but that was in a much bigger 2 bedroom apartment, and w/ 3 guys, all having 2 computers a peice. Also included free water and gas.
