Tenant screening sources?

i have a potential tenant for my rental unit. does anyone have any experience with any online tenant screening services? all the ones that i have seen require me to fax them my personal bank information and proof of property ownership which i am reluctant...

I don't see why they would need your bank info. Proof of ownership info is kind of borderline.

Who did you get your loan through? If it was a broker whom you had a good relationship with, see if they might be able to run their credit for you. For previous landlords, make sure you do a property search to verify the name and number the tennant gives you matches the owner info on the property.

But you just bought a house recently, right? It doesn't need to be the broker for the income property, just anyone you might know in the business.

Regardless, it sounds like the transunion site might be all you need. In fact, I'm going to have to check it out.

EDIT: The link is www.mysmartmove.com the other site is a home purchasing and selling service.

Why not use a Property Management company like I do unless your profit margin isn't large enough to pay them $100-$150 a month out of the rent.

i haven't gotten to that step yet... the tenant moved out after living there for 10 years... so it needed major fixes and i just threw a sign out in front to see what potential tenants i would catch while i finish renovating the place... if i finished all the repairs and don't have a new tenant by then, then i was going to look for a rental co to find me a tenant...
