brother, I took your advice on the Jamo's and got a set longggg back....I even hooked it up in the basement and play it while working it to break them in

sounds decently ok for a terrible basement setup (so far...no walls, no insulation, no carpet, etc)..I bought it the day you recommended it and now the set is selling for 3x the price

brewski on me braah

The Jamo towers are pretty good. The center and bookshelf are good for an office. What about dual subs? You get those F12s? They're 189 on Amazon right now.. that's the lowest I've seen them. The PSW10s are GTG as well.. not as good as the F12s, but hard to beat for ~$80.

Havent ordered the sub yet...might go with Jimmy John's

I was thinking of staying with Jamo's for the full setup, not sure yet....

Jamos are only okay for the towers. If you're on a budget, get the PSW10's (newegg usually has these on sale a few times a year).. if you have a little more coin, get the F12s. Trust me.

If you're just being cheap, get the F12s. Way more value.

F12's it is then...

I was thinking of staying with the 5.1 setup for the time being and then picking up another set of Jamo towers for a 7.1 setup.

The basement will be wired for a 7.2 setup though

Honestly, with a kid and work responsibilities, you don't have time focus on ordering and looking for deals. Just give majofo your cc/paypal info and he'll handle ordering and having it shipped to you!

Never mind, just realized it's Majofo. He already has all that information

LOL...there are 2 fields there....one on the top with the view and the other kinda inside...the one on the top is slightly bigger and played 6 on 6 (7 on 7 if you include the keeper), and the one inside usually 5 on 5 kind of deal...

outdoor one....over looks the complex and the lake

the other one which is semi in, semi out

Onto the home pix...

stub for the sink for wet bar

on to the HVAC. I had someone come in and measure the basement and the flow for optimal heating...here are the returns

made a little standalone pull up, dips, reverse row station...helped me with my back workout a lottt

here is what the messy basement looks like....got the home theater wire up temporarily which I fire up while working out....

great recommendation by Majofofofo...

Thanks Dave

Yeah weather is kinda like Florida/California....my parents were pushing me to move to either state just so they could escape dealing with the snow....

but i like the winter and the seasons...California has like 1 season all year long LOL

Shit, I must have posted my last post on the previous page. Good pics!

I didn't know your basement was unfinished. Do you have decent access to the basement? That's going to be a bitch to carry down all that drywall.

Also, that's a huge fucking space Anil. I'd definitely get some serious sides and rears. I just saw a pair of polk monitor70's series II on CL for $60. Might pick them up.. definitely check out CL, just don't get raped... butt if you do, get a discount (34.50).

btw.. good choice on the F12.. just the single will do fine in that space.

yeah...the builder wanted wayyy tooo much to finish the basement...I offered him half (exactly) of what he quoted us since I knew I could get it finished for that much...he countered with another offer but I didnt budge so we ended up going with an unfinished basement....we planned on finishing up about 1000-1050sq ft of space...thats how much is framed off....

yeah I have been looking at CL but since I dont have the "ear" for it, I know am gonna regret buying it on there and hence am just looking for deals on Newegg/Amazon/Monoprice/woot and couple other sites...

ohh and negative on the access through to the basement...its very limited....I got in all the wood work for the framing from the ingress window...not sure how we going to get the drywall in....I am most probably going to just contract the drywall part out....dont want to deal with sanding/etc

Good to see some updates buddy!

I too have been ridiculously busy and at a standstill on the basement. Getting drywall into your basement will be a major pain in the a$$ so I'd sub-contract it if I were you. It's a little pricey but worth it to not worry about carrying and finishing it, especially given the tight spacing our basements have in the stairwells. My contractor actually took part of my steps out to get the sheets into the basement easier.

fuck.. should have just paid the dude.

You going to get fancy and do spray foam insulation? Definitely worth it if you can get a decent bid. Anyways.. little by little.

Thanks brother....

yeah, you have had your hands full with couple things...How is the little one?

I might hit you up and get the number for the dude who did your basement drywall...

he wanted 32 bucks per sq ft finished...I told him 16 was the max I was willing to go....@32, it would have been 32,000 just for a basic finish for 1000 sq ft of space...my butthole aint that big...

we will be doing spray only for the ceiling...since foam has better sound absorbing qualities as well...for the walls we will do the pad/roll insulation...

32.. for just drywall?! that guy was greedy. That's builder markup. Yeah, pad roll probably okay since it's below ground. Plus more moisture between wall and insulation below ground.. don't want to trap it.

Well.. keep us updated.

Do you even vapor barrier, bro?!?!?

I wonder how much it is to rent the machine and spray your own...it'll take a few passes to get the expanding and when to stop down but looks like fun. Make a foam mold of the family dog and whatnot...
