suggestions for a fence?
My family and I just moved to a new house recently and we need/want to build a fence around our backyard. Our neighbors keep trespassing through our driveway to get to their backyard or leaving it cuz it's easier for them to get out front instead of going back into their house and leaving that way. And I think they keep dumping their bottles of alcohol (at least a liter of vodka each week) in our trash cans. We need the fence for privacy and to keep people entering and leaving our property without our permission.
My mom wants a metal wired fence (like this: http://img.ehowcdn.com/article-page-...es-800x800.jpg) where you can thread sheets of covering through each area in criss cross designs. I'm not a fan of that and the only other alternative I can think of is a fence like the one my old neighbor had...something like this http://fence.name/images/vinyl-fence.jpg
Do you guys have any other suggestions for good fences? My mom mainly wants one that won't break easily and can weather the Northeast weather. She's also gonna try to get the cheapest one but I'd rather spend a more to make sure it'll serve its purpose.

Depending on how handy you are, building a fence is not difficult. The hardest part is setting the posts and the soil in your yard will determine whether a manual or rentable power post hole digger is needed. The nice thing is that once you set the posts you can take your time installing the pickets.
And I agree with Dan, chain link looks like...well chain link, pretty low rent.

Yea I don't like chain link either but she's got it in her mind that its the more durable and long lasting. I think she just thinks that way cuz metal is harder than wood/vinyl/whatever. Sigh...chinese parents...
