Stucco?

Has anyone re-stuccoed their own home? Was it as easy as it sounds or should we call in the pros?

I had mine done a few years back. Didn't look that difficult but they knew what they were doing.

You better call the pros. Back in the late 80's and early 90's, even the pro's did the job wrong. Causing MAJOR water damage to people's homes.

It's just on the lower portion of the house (basement level) over cinder block, and on some terraces, so it won't have any functionality other than looking pretty. The rest is siding. I was just wondering if it's hard to get it mixed & colored evenly, or hard to make it look right. Were the people just not sealing something properly underneath?

A lot were just putting up the stucco, not using ANY water barrier. But even the ones that used the barrier, didn't do it completely.

re

you gotta have the hand with a trowel or your screwed. If you've never done it call the pros and learn while they do it

There is an article in "This Old House" magazine (latest issue) about reparing stucco, maybe that would help. Sorry I don't have a scanner, but I'm sure you could pick it up somewhere.
