Thumbs down Speechless at Some People...

Well, I woke up today and noticed something different on my front yard...Some shithead went and stole all the solar bulbs out of my lawnlights. The casings are still on the ground but the bulbs are gone. WTF.

In the big scheme of things, it's not a life-altering thing but WTF...Who goes and steals solar bulbs from people?!?

Just the fact that someone was on my lawn prowling around would piss me off. Sure, stealing light bulbs isn't the end of the world, but knowing that someone was on my property would be enough to make me really angry.

I'm thinking of getting a set for either side of my garage which would beam onto my front yard soon.

This past winter we saw foot prints(in snow) in our fenced in back yard leading up to our sliding glass door. Someone jumped our fence and went snooping around our house. My fiance was not very happy.

^Similar thing happened to me last year. Foot steps in the snow all around my car in my driveway. My roommate had an iPod stolen out of his car so I assume it was kids checking out the cars on their way to the bus stop.

A home is supposed to be your castle...but, I never thought I'd need to make it a fortress.

Again, it's just light-bulbs. But, the fact some fawker went around and took the time to unscrew the solar lamps' bulbs is nutty...

Sorry to hear this man, like Scrib said nothing is surprising anymore.

I also say go with the motion detector lights ASAP. They may come back next time and be a little more greedy.

And no it was not me

Well, unless these fawkers are now after the boulder on my front yard, I dunno what else they plan to steal. I still don't have a BBQ and furniture for the deck...

Which, actually, leads to a n00b question: Should I be chaining down my deck furniture and BBQ...?

Security cameras FTW.

I wish all they had taken were light bulbs.

Next time instead of a robber, it could be some drunk kids vandalizing. That boulder may end up being thrown through one of your front windows...ya never know.

Maybe motion detectors in the back also?

What type of area do you live in? Suburban, rural?

Never heard of solar light bulbs.

Regardless, having anything taken from your property is unsettling.

mrsteve - I've been thinking of motion detection sprinklers for a while and suggested it to a few people who have people gather around their properties. When I get a house, I might actually put this into effect. Either that or the motion detecting paintball gun. Wonder if that ever got perfected.

wow...thats crazy, but then again its like the stories we keep hearing about how low life thieves steal people's rims while their cars are park on their driveways. I hope you catch the thief if it ever happens again.

P.S. I recently found dog poop on my front yard yesterday. If I ever find whoever did it....grrrRRrrRR...

Oof...I'm regularly picking up cigarette butts on my rocks and etc. Not sure if it's the wind carrying that shit over or what...But, I think it's more having to do with the fact that I'm close to a bus stop.

Yummy, I have three LED solar lights I would be willing to give you to replace the ones that you lost. I don't need them any more. The only things you would need are the little plastic piece that get anchored into the ground to steady the lights.

I've recently learned that Raccoon poop is eerily similar to dog poop. Make certain.

Thanks alot, gatrhumpy!

But, it's all good. I had 8 stolen from me and so, I'll likely want to buy a set that is all the same again. But, I'm in no hurry at this point...

Thanks again for the generous offer, bud!

Speaking of those cigarette butts, our neighbor almost burned our house down with an unfinished cigarette. Half fence was gone and it was quickly going towards wall.

^ It has nothing to do with the person/owner checking...it has more to do with the intruder who suddenly is bathed in light. That's how I see it.

My friend's parents used to have these little water spouts on the side of the house that were supposed to scare away the deer. When a deer would pass by, the spout would detect motion and water would fly out and scare the deer. Maybe it would work with humans? Although I don't know how far the water would shoot.

What I need is a motion-sensored gatling gun.

Still can't believe someone would go and unscrew the bulbs out of the lamps. If you're gonna steal, just take the entire lamp...

Oh I would seriously love to have that. Unfortuanly where I live the other side of my driveway is common area for the development. This means that are always kids walking through this grassy area and playing around our cars. I really want to spray them with the water hose . My finace thinks im crazy for letting it bother me but I don't like them hanging out in our around the driveway.

LOL.

I give a web cam to Shoofin, offer to give you toys to replace the ones that were stolen/broken, and offer to give Yummy these lights.

I'm just a good guy, I guess.

That is, unless you cheat on your spouse.
