Sight unseen

Well, that was an interesting day. Feels a bit odd to buy something without ever seeing it with my own two eyes. Hopefully this is the place I just bought or my sister in law and mother in law have played a very mean trick on me.

Commentary is by far the best part. Notice the Foyer comments on the staircase? I love her

No unfinished, too bad but upgrades on the other floors made up for it (we were also looking at another place with a finished place that wasn't as nicely finished). Well at least I assume since I haven't actually seen either.

She likes "sliders"

Is that your sister?

The basement can always be finished when she didn't go down and then never went back it made me curious..

In-law, makes it okay that I think she is hot. Plus she makes bank as a sales rep for a computer company. Grades/experience don't always correlate to success

She went down in another little vid, nothing exciting.

That place is nook-tastic.

Looks great and will be less echo-ey once you get some furniture and rugs in there.

Where is this house located? Is it common to have the vents in the floor?

Its in Annapolis MD.

Floor vents are very common for the first floor from my limited experience. Of course since I am in England at the moment I see no AC and all the heating is done through radiators. Old school.

it's much bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside.

I love the layout, no damn vaulted ceiling like in most new houses that 1) robs of you of another room upstairs and 2) drives up your heating bills.

All of the vents are in the floor at our place too (minus one). Pretty much standard for houses here. An older home where I used to live had most in the floor as well, but also a few larger ones on the wall in a few of the rooms.

The vents thing probably has a lot to do with us not having basements and having slab foundations out here.

Okay just venting but how much of a pain in the ass is closing. We are supposed to close tomorrow, we are overseas so gave Power of Attorney to my mother in law. Well last Tuesday the title company mentions to us that they need the original POA. Well we run out to the Royal mail and send it as fast as we can. It should, hopefully, get there today but things happen and it may not. But they will have to push back closing if they don't get it.

So they have copies of the POA, all the other paperwork signed by us, all of our closing money, talked to us on the phone, and that is still not enough. I am just frustrated that this tech society still requires the original. A scanned copy should be sufficient. ARGHH!!

Funny, just remembered I had posted this here and thought I would update. So, finally, moved back from overseas a few weeks ago, got our shipment last week and are in the unfun process of unpacking and organizing. Place is coming together, built a fence (great story on the HOA and issues with that one) and a deck. Just need to hang the TV and get my system set up (I miss my PS3). Once all the furniture is in (second to last shipment comes tomorrow) I will post some more pics. We are excited to finally be done with living out of a suitcase (going on 3 months for my wife).
