Replace wooden steps in garage with concrete steps?
Can this be done yourself, or would it be better to hire a contrator?
Right now, it's just two small steps from the garage into the laundry room. I'm not a big fan of the wooden (2"x10" I think) steps.
Do you need to have footings down for something like this, or can this be poured right on top of the existing cement floor.
Thoughts?

It can be poured on existing cement. If you have experience forming concrete you can tackle the job. Although I can't imaging a contractor charging too much for a couple steps. Did you ever think of just laying down nicer wood, and stain it?

I've thought about it. But I rather just put something down that will take a punishment and not wear over time.

I've got a concrete step from the garage into my house... The builder that built my home always use concrete steps from the garage. They poured the garage floor then later added the concrete step.

Something as small as that shouldn’t need a footer.
Maybe you can even get something that pre-cast already.
Then it’s just a matter of moving it into place and securing with adhesive.
They also make semi-hollow pre-cast meaning it’s not solid, but still feels like it is.
Much lighter and cheaper because it’s only 2-3” thick.
I’ve seen them for outdoor entrances with 10-12 steps so I’m sure they make smaller ones.

It’s stronger then the wood you have, but not quite as solid as the concrete ones I posted about.
Probably cheaper and easier to move though.
