I think he found the flux capacitor and went back in time to invent the Internet!

Aside from this thread being a contender for TOTY, I have a real fridge question...

My fridge is about 8 years old, and is now making a slightly louder than I would like humming/buzzing noise. It used to only do this once in a while, but it seems to be pretty constant now. Is it about to die?

Sounds like it might be. Does it keep temp okay? Can you get to the back of it easily?

I'd physically move the fridge out of its surround a little to see if a water line, electric plug line or something else is vibrating/moving around and causing the buzz.

Is there a water line feeding feeding a water dispenser/ice maker? If a copper water line is pushed against the fridge body or coils, it can cause a buzz.

Have you cleaned the dust and dirt off the coils and everyplace you can reach? Empty (or just check) the condensation pan?
Do that while you're messing with the thing.

Watch out for the flux capacitor and the carburetors, though.

I will give it a look-over this weekend. I need to top off the fluids and adjust the spectrograph and the timing belt anyway...

make sure you only use dex-cool in it, any off brand fluids will cause it to blow a seal.

ours did that for awhile too, I kept kicking it everytime I heard it when I was passing by, it seems to have cleared up for now.

The noise could also be coming from the fan motor
