Pullout faucets?

Thinking of going with this kind of style? Simple and clean.

Any drawbacks to the pullout feature???

We looked at them when we redid our kitchen. The only thing we didn't like about them was that they feel kind of flimsy.

I put this one in our last place when we did granite. I absolutely loved it and so did my wife. I got it in brushed nickel.

It did NOT feel flimsy at all.

Now that I look at it a little closer - I think the pic you posted might be the same one we had.

Let me elaborate just a little. There is some play between the faucet and the pullout section, so when you move the faucet side to side you can feel it move. My wife and I preferred the feel of a traditional faucet.

These comments refer only to those that we tried (mostly Price-Pfister and Delta); we didn't try the particular faucet pictured.

We put this one in our kitchen, in the brazen bronze finish to go with the granite. We love it,not flimsy at all. It has very little play in it and the nozzle has a sort of magnetic catch on it so it stays in place.

Washing dishes is a billion times easier. Sometimes the dishwasher doesn't get out the tight ones.

For that price, it should be sturdy. The ones that seem flimsy are the lower end models. I like Kohler products, my Dad is a builder, and used them throughout our house.

two, but they arent a big deal.

1. if you keep a lot of junk under your sink the retractable hose gets tangled in the junk.
2. if you have children in your house (or are childish yourself ) you will end up with a waterfight in your kitchen.

<--- On the other hand, they are great for washing newborns...

Picked the one I originally posted off of eBay. Saved over $100 versus going to Lowes.

Same, before renovating kitchen I was dead-set on a pull-out style faucet. After trying a few, however, we decided to go with a more traditional goose-neck fixture and separate sprayer.

That's not a pullout though is it?

We have a regular faucet with an addition pull out sprayer. Works great.

So it's a single hole install? I'm trying to tell from your pics if they only drilled one hole in your granite.

I'm concerned that we'll hate the faucet and now be tied to single hole installs... ah well... I guess we'll survive.

Have one and love it. It's great when washing dishes or just cleaning up the sink.

easier to go from 1 to 2 then 2 to 1.

its nothing for someone to cut another hole post-install.

nearly our entire cooktop cutout was done on premises after install, for structural integrity purposes.

So they could come on site and drill a new hole? Good to know.

We have a Kohler Fairfax in our kitchen and it is a great faucet. It makes washing large pots and pans a snap, coupled with an extra deep sink. It also feels very sturdy, no looseness when moving it from side to side.

I will always have one of these type faucets in my kitchen.

I chose it for the short reach and nearly straight down angle of the water flow.

No concerns or thoughts, Moen is a good brand should be fine. We did Kohler in our remodel but only because everything else is also Kohler. No worries with this one. Send it.

The only problem I've seen with those, is that over time, the head tends to not hold in the retracted position & will dangle a bit.
Not sure if it's friction fit or magnet.

Mine was a friction fit. Only a hint of 'play' on it after 4 years.

might be the weight on the hose under the sink. I had a similar issue and just bought an extra weight to add to it, now it retracts like a MOFO

Going with this one in our new house, also a Moen. Wife is going black with the fixtures. I want simple shapes that are easy to clean. The "industrial" ones with the coils around the hose look like nightmares to keep shiny.

This one is 17" tall and has a 9" reach.

Using my builder’s supply house.

Price is a few bucks better than on-line. Amazon and faucets.com have good selections and prices.

Once you know the exact model you want, Google the part number.

We bought ours at HD with a 20% off coupon. Otherwise Amazon might be cheaper though brick and mortar stores are getting a lot more competitive lately so check around.
