Electric ones suck... they don't get the job done. Spend the extra money and get a gas one.

I use this one for my business...

it's the ZR3600 model... obviously you don't need anything that big, but check out some of Ex-cell's pressure washers, they are pretty well made.

You want to get somewhere between 1500-2200 psi for vehicles, decks, patios, siding, lawn furniture, etc...

1500-2200 psi on a car? that's nuts IMO. I have a 2500 psi pressure washer and that thing would probably rip the moulding/paint right off the car.

I think it depends on how close you hold the nozzle to the paint. My neighbour uses 2600 PSI gas powered pressure washer to clean his truck and he hasn't had any paint problems.

He has this:

I don't plan on really using it on the car much and I would hold it away. it is mostly going to be used to clean sidewalks, sidings etc. Thanks

Without knowing specifically what your going to be doing with it it's kind of hard to make recommendations. I have an electric one (a Coleman) and I love it. I only use it around the house and it does everything I need it to. Electric models are definitely light duty compared to gas units but if that's all you need there's nothing wrong with them. I'd go someplace like Home Depot where they will have somebody knowledgeable who can give you advise based on what you're going to be doing with it.

No.. no young grasshopper.... that is only the MAX psi of the unit... they normally have several different nozzles that you can change the pressure with...
