My wifes first request for the new house
So at the end of may i am moving into my new house and the wife wants to get a stripper pole in the basement. but i have no idea which is a good one to get. my basement ceilings are 9 foot tall and it has a drop ceiling. the floor is cement with carpet. im thinking of drilling it into the floor and through the drop ceiling to a supporting joyce. but my question is- which pole is a good one. or does anyone have any experience with it. i was also thinking of getting some fake money and making it rain on her. she thinks its a good idea because we have a lot of friends and i can see this becoming a huge hit at parties. any input is greately appreciated.

If I were installing a stripper pole in my basement, I'd want it firmly attached to something structural top and bottom. You don't want anyone falling on their head if it gives way. Anchored to the floor and to a support beam above would probably be ideal.
If attaching to a joist, you may need to sister a couple other pieces of wood to the joist in order to give a wide enough anchoring surface.
You should hire real strippers then so your installation can be professionally tested.

no, my wife isn't a stripper, she is a dental assistant. i met her when i was in dental school.. i am Italian and she is a short vietnamese girl. i wont buy a used pole. thats just gross. she has been doing research. most of our friends say to buy one from a sex party. but i don't know anyone having a sex party right now.
I didn't move into the house yet, i only have about another month till settlement. i am going to make another thread and post pics. i just realized that there are 9 foot ceilings in the basement. all of my friends cant wait to come over and try it out.

she just called and she said that she is looking into getting the carmen electra stripper pole , it comes with a dvd and all 
not sure how i feel about it . it looks like some sort of pressure fit or friction fit.

Get a X-Pole. My wife got one as a wedding shower gift. (my idea) Being the good husband I am, I made sure to do extensive thorough research both online and and at the local gentlemen's clubs to make sure we got the best.
