Three Wheelin'
Longest day EVER!
Thanks for the heads up on the rubber mulch J!
First up -
We took down the wall in the kitchen during the renovation to create an open concept. As there is / was recessed lights already in both rooms, once the wall was gone, there were entirely too many hi hats blaring. So... got rid of a couple.
I hope to wrap this project up in the morning.
Wrapped up the canopy project... pics are somewhat blurry - I'm half-asleep lol
Pulled weeds & grass as well to lay down the mulch, turned out nice... I'll snap shots tomorrow.
This zombie is off to bed

Just mud (All-Purpose Pre-Mixed Joint Compound).
The cut outs were pretty flushed and secured because of the backing added. Waited for them to dry, then sanded prior to priming and painting.

Garage will definitely get cleaned up; probably by the end of the summer or fall some time. Need to repaint / seal the floors, change shelving, add workstation, etc.
Still holding up with no signs of cracking just yet. I'll definitely keep you guys posted if it does.

Patrick's thread really got me motivated to get the outdoor theater setup going.
I initially wanted to shoot the project across the pool, but, it's 30' from where the screen would be setup. After doing some research, a projector of that magnitude would be an arm & leg - even used.... scratched the idea. Went with plan b to do everything within the canopy itself. The distance from end to end is 10ft, but, where the projector will be mounted is just shy of 10' to project to the other end. Amazon had a couple of really good deals this past weekend, so I took advantage of it.
Project: iRulu BL20
Screen: VonHaus 80" Widescreen
Could've gone with a 100" screen, but didn't want to overkill.
Oh, also picked up an Amazon Fire Stick for the streaming. I was blown away by a friend of mine who showed me the Kodi add-ons on his setup. Just sick!
Which leaves me with just sound to accommodate the space. Lots of options, but still reading to pin point which route to go.... any recommendations?

Goddamn you, I want to do this now! I thought the projectors were a lot more expensive, the reviews look good on that one, trying hard not to purchase....I've tried to not spend a ton of money until we get our conversion up to code but...
Post pics when you get this going and glad I could inspire
Edit - Kodi is awesome, used to run well on my Apple TV but lately, I have to keep side loading it.

I think that with the outdoor space, it'll be much more important to have numerous small but clear sounding surround sound rock speakers...than to have booming bass and 1000 watts rms.
I look forward to heading to your house in my banana hammock to watch magic mike really really soon.
Should add Patrick to the group text
Local, homeowner with some balls...
and we can convince him to have a kid.

Just re-read your thread, this projector has been a long time coming, hurry it up.
Oh, I think we have the same house and weirdly shaped yard
Now that summer is finally over, weather is definitely getting better. It was 74 yesterday evening with very little to no humidity. We ate dinner outside for the first time; enjoyed every minute of it.
Now the wife wants a projector out back to watch movies.
Stewing on ideas to make it reality.

You guys are hilarious!
Yea Pat, DM either one of us your number and we'll include you on the group text.
I agree with J, our homes are VERY similar in layout... damn near identical. When I was looking at the roof work you did, I seriously couldn't tell the difference from mine when we re-did the flat roof.
OK - got the Fire Stick yesterday... and... Kodi 17 is up and running! I can't believe this was not on my radar prior... like, seriously. Did a couple of test runs on movies - Dr. Strange being one of them; the quality is unreal... 1080p HD unreal. No buffering, no pixelation.
At the 1:30a in the morning, both my wife are looking at each other like WTF!? Why isn't this out to the masses!? What's the point of have cable tv anymore, you know? All the channels, across the globe! Heck, my wife was watching Russian MTV before crashing
So yeah, we like it.
All the other goodies are arriving later today. I'm hoping the weather holds up this weekend so we can get it all installed.

kodi is fine for pre-recorded shows and movie watching, but I haven't found a decent add-on for live tv
I run kodi off a g-box, and had been saving all the movies/shows to a network drive, but the library was getting too large to manage, so I've given up and just stream whenever we want to watch something.

Damn, Marcel...
I told Betty I'm not interested in that...
then her co-worker tech guy said they had a small computer they were tossing and he'd make us a dedicated kodi machine...fine...whatever...$100 in parts and $50 in thank you vodka bottle and OMG...I'm addicted to that thing. More than the new movies, I'm impressed with the search function...
no shit, last weekend watching The Golden Child...week before that Howard the Duck. LIKE WTF...these are movies I haven't seen anywhere in a long time...bam, streaming.
So cool

When I get home later, I'll check to see exactly what add-ons are there and report back.

Thanks you guys; more in the works!
A Vagon would be a tough sell to the wife
We'll more than likely be a Lexus house for the next 2 years; working a similar deal as the ISt for the NXt.
Truck is officially gone

You boys are too funny
All seriousness though, we'll more than like grab an NXt.
I'm at least two years out from pulling the trigger on a used 97 - 00 Esprit... I've always dreamed of owning one since I was a kid; wife supports that dream.
Can't live without my !
