Lumber Liquidators?

Anyone bought their hardwood from there? Thinking of the Bellawood Brazilian Walnut.

That floor looks awesome, but if these reviews are a representative sample proceed with caution...

We were thinking of going this route as well.....that is, until we looked up some comments on them. Kind of looks like a gamble if you want to use them. According to customer comments, their products can be inferior, and their customer service is basically non-existent. It's too bad, because it's cheaper than other alternatives, but in this case, it seems you get what you pay for.

We will probably go with a local store instead.

Apparently, this is one of the things they tell their customers when they get complaints.

One of my employer's sister companies opened an online store. I never understood how anyone could buy flooring without seeing it in person.

Make sure whatever brazilian cherry flooring you buy it has an aluminum oxide finish with
sunshield. The issue with BC is it will darken when exposed to sunlight. That's great if you don't plan to put carpets or furniture down. The AO finish will help slow that darkening process.

LOL.... since i used to lay flooring for a couple years i'm going to recommend Armstrong! if you get real wood (link: http://www.armstrong.com/flooring/products/hardwood ) make sure to let it acclimate fro 48 hours in the house at normal living conditions. Or if you are going to go with Laminate you should let it acclimate for 24 hours. (link: http://www.armstrong.com/flooring/products/laminate ) Good Luck!!!!

I looked at using these guys a few years back. They'll sell you the product, but you have to find someone to do the work. At least back then it was. I went with a crew that did a neighbors house and went with Bruce Flooring.

I have brazillian Koa in my living room from lumber liquidators. in front of my couch i have a area rug. when i moved the rug i noticed that it was lighter underneath of it. the exposed wood got darker and none of this wood is in direct sunlight. they recommend that you move or rearrange your furniture often but i didn't read that pamphlet until i noticed that the color had changed. its not a problem for me, but resale value might take a hit?

Most woods do darken over time, to varying degrees. Cherry woods show some of the most dramatic (and attractive) darkening.

^^ Shouldn't be a huge hit on resale b/c of the change. When you go to sell you just strategically place your furniture to minimize the effect of the color changes and you should be fine. Like Mike said, most hardwoods do this, so it shouldn't be a huge issue.

We got bellawood brazillian cherry from lumber liquidators. At first we were told itll take 1 month to get the flooring in and they said they'll call us. Well, that wait turned out to be more than 4 months, with them never calling us with updates. We had to call, and different people would give us different bs. So yea, their customer service blows. But the hardwood floor in our kitchen looks good and were happy with it so far.
