Toro and get the "Expand-it" attachments...
Bought the gas trimmer and got the blower and edger attachments. Works like a charm.
I think it cost me under $275 for everything.

Like Scribby says, get a weed wacker (trimmer) with the expand-it capabilities. I think the homelite brand might be the cheapest tho'.
Toro , Homelite, Ryobi, John Deere, Craftsman, etc, etc. all use the same attachments so you can mix and match 'em depending on where you get the best price... Buy 'em as you need 'em.
I've got a JD weed wacker, and it has the expand-it capabilities. JD/homelite calls it the Versa-Tool Quick-Tatch system. I borrowed my step-dad's tiller attachment to use on my trimmer.... He's got a few weed wackers, and just bought a higher priced Kawasaki one 'cause it's quieter then the others
I've got to finsh putting together my craftsman (made by agri-fab) lawn sweeper this weekend

I have a mix of everything.
Honda mower
Ryobi gas weed eater w/ interchangeable heads
Toro leaf blower (car dryer)
Troy Bilt (Honda engine) Pressure Washer
Right now my lawn looks like crap….literally.
Scott’s came out yesterday and did the “core aeration” of the entire lot.
With all the little “plugs”, it looks like an army of 10,000 miniature poodles SHIT all over it.

Question about edgers. Some of these look uncomfortable to carry. Look at how this guy has to hold it. Any comments on this?
When I was a kid we has one that was electric and rolled on 3 wheels (2 in back, one in front). That was no problem. I would walk behind it, not along side of it. It also didn't need to be carried. I would need a gas one now or would need a hell of a long extension cord.

I borrowed my step-dad's tiller to use on my weedwacker, and I might just buy an expand-it tiller for myself 'cause I liked it. Using the tiller on the end of a weedwacker was kinda like holding the tail of a tasmanian devil tho'
