Landscape Lights?

Anyone have a favorite brand for LED landscape lights?

I have five flood/spot heads and need about 6-8 walkway/path lights and want to ditch the incandescent setup I have for LED.

Are you looking for replacing entire fixture or just replacing the low voltage halogen bulb with an LED bulb?

Probably the whole fixture. I did a swap out on one of the spot lights with an LED bulb and it works well, but a few of the housings are really old and all of the pathway light housings are in pretty bad shape.

Not exactly sure then as I have only done replacement bulbs to this point. I have 3 fixtures which don't work anymore that I need to replace but haven't decided if I was going to get new fixture that still used bulbs or ones that have no replaceable bulbs.

The solar don't put out enough actual "light the pathway" light IMO and I have older in-laws who need that, so wired. All the wiring and the 12v transformers are in place, just need new lights.

These are made by Malibu, but there are some just like them at Home Depot made by Hampton Bay. They have been great for over two years now. I like how you never see the actual light and it directs it straight to the ground and makes a nice soft glow.

I was looking at that style, thanks!

If you have them, do they put out enough light to actually light the walkway? Some of these pathway lights only really define the edge of the walkway but I am looking for lights that actually light up the ground.

Kichler makes lots of great lighting products. They are one of the brands I have considered using to replace my broken fixtures.

not a lot of good inexpensive options out there for landscape lighting. Good luck to you.

You're welcome!

Yes they light up the ground with a nice soft warm glow. I bet the Hampton Bay ones are even brighter. I've installed some of the Hampton Bay spotlights and they're brighter than the Malibu spotlights. I might end up replacing one of the Malibu path lights with a Hampton Bay because the one on the end isn't working anymore.

So I picked up one of the Hampton bay path lights and it puts out more light than the Malibu ones we have. Turns out the one on the end I thought was broken still works and it must be something with the wire that is the problem.

Hampton Bay and Malibu are ones i have/have used. I bought replacement led bulbs from superbrightled years back and all are still working. Went from replacing bulbs 2-3 times a year to not having to yet They are plenty bright, with bulb options for color/Kelvin and power to make the amount of light needed for application.

I finally replaced the 15+yr old 12v "pagoda style" path lights in the front yard with new fixtures. I ordered 20w equivalent 3w LED bulbs for them (

) and also rewired the other two front yard spotlights and moved the transformer so now I only have one transformer for front and back yard.

The front yard transformer timer was still working, but the back yard separate one had stopped working (timer/clock function) so I needed to move the front transformer to the location of the rear to keep the rear run the same length. The rear run is several hundred feet and i didn't want to have to rewire it in 12ga since that would be a pain in the ass and expensive. So, moved the 120watt front yard transformer to the location of the now-removed rear transformer, added new wiring for the replacement front fixtures (the old line was brittle and falling apart) and extended the front line about 40 feet to the transformer.

All lights are working well and the new front path lights are nice and bright. Plus, since I am using only LED bulbs, I only have plenty of watts left in case I want to add a few more lights.

I ended up going with these pathway lights mainly because they were low cost AND the lens is real glass. The plastic lenses break down so fast in the AZ heat/sun and just crumble.

(not my pic)
