We bought a charbroil infrared grill @ home depot for $150 marked down from $600 a couple months ago.

I didn't realize it was an infrared until i opened it up and like wtf?

I cook everything to temp on the grill. I did it with our old cheap $100 charbroil and i had to relearn it with this one.

You don't have an open flame with the IR( infrared). There are U shaped things under the grates that catch the drippings.

You can put wood chips in the U shaped thing to flavor food, that is nice.

You need to preheat the grill a little longer than a normal grill. These things cook at a much higher temp. Your cooking time is less also.

I have cooked pizza on the grill with better success since the flames weren't licking the bottom of the crust.

Of course with any grill you have to use it a few times to get teh seasoning taste in it.

For the price i love it. I wasn't prepared to buy a new grill but the pricing made me.
