Can I save these trees? As far as we can remember...last year they were still straight, but now it seems they are both leaning. Is there anything that can be done to save them? From experience, once they start to go it's difficult to control them, and these are much larger than any other tree we have tried to salvage. Thanks for any responses in advance.

 

Contact an arborist in your area and ask a few questions. Should be free and depending on the answer you should be able to determine if you want to spend money to save them.

 

Are they actually dying or just leaning? I would think if they're just leaning, you could tie a heavy rope around each one (somewhere in the middle) and anchor it to the ground on the opposite side of where its leaning. Probably need a good sized post that goes a couple of feet down though...

 

The one on the left looks healthy, however the one on the right looks like it is beginning to die. Last year they were both good. Anybody know what causes this?

 

It kind of looks like they are getting shadowed by some trees to the right. If that is the case, they could be leaning to get more sun.
