I have been enjoying all of your guys new construction and remodel pics, so I figured it would be wrong if I did not share my own little project we have going on. FYI - one pic was a combo of two scanned pics (was trying to pan across property) - so pic looks ugly scanned - but you get idea)

Just a dirt lot ...

Ugly scanned picture to show basement Forms...

Poured and Framing going up...
front...

back...

Not sure how good these are - viewable etc....plus to make more confusing...my house is the flip of these plans...garage is on right of house, not left...etc.

Wow, that's only a 1/2 acre lot? Looks much bigger. Must be b/c they're still building. Our lot is a little under a 1/2 acre and it doesn't look that big

Anyway, looking good!

I love that layout, really nice. My only knock I guess would be that I usually like the living room connected or open to the dining room, since it makes the space more usable. But I dont see how that can be avoided in your case without ruining something else.

Well, there will be a house behind us - but since his lot is deeper - he won't feel close at all...I think what is deceiving is my propeerty line does not go all the way to the woods on the left...kinda like no man's land there - protected area - no house to be built etc....I will try my best to make it mine by keeping it well cared for and maybe even filling in some white Bradford Pear trees - but I guess push comes to shove it technically won't be mine.
My last house sat on 1/4 acre - so I am preparing myself for double lawn duty

We are getting the optional French doors from the living room to family room because when you walk in front door the living room looks like a bedroom - all claustrophobic feeling - I too am used to it flowing into DR...so it looks really sweet opened up with the doorway and french doors. Only drawback is that blows a huge hole in family room TV wall. Luckily I can still fit my current setup in the space that will be to the left, and for a future plasma, DLP or LCD etc.

Can see the fireplace now from the living room - looks nice. Sure hated to lose the family room wall, but if I need a bigger space for a Home Theatre - I will finish the basement I guess.

LOL, yeah our last place was a townhome... so we didn't have to life a finger. Last summer I tried to maintain the lawn, but it got brown... so this year I parked the lawnmower and we now have a landscaper take care of it. It's not that expensive and really frees up my time to do other things...

It's sooooo nice not to have to maintain the grass.

Looks like it's going to be sweet when it's done. Must be costing a pretty penny. A lot of the condos and townhouses in Hillsborough that I looked at were really nice though. I really liked the area.

What a difference a week can make!!
Can ya tell we go same time each weekend - and the house faces East - thus the orange UFO in the picture

Front - (arch above front door will be cut out prior to bricking)

Back -

Windows on either side of Gas fireplace will have a half moon (starburst?) over them - will look pretty sharp - will be cut out prior to siding

Rained again late last night - at least there is some protection now tho

yeah, they fly when putting up the shell. I was shocked that I would get pictures days apart and it would look like a different house b/c of the progress.

the only bad news is- this is exactly how it will look for a couple years cause we will not have the cash on hand to get a patio going with all the trimmings...one thing at a time I guess....we'll get all the outside goodies over time...

I will make a lifesize blowup of JB's backyard pics and lay them out there for the time being

Thanks guys - I will continue to show the progress as I take pics...no matter whose house it is .... 'CAUSE I LOVE CONSTRUCTION PICS!!

Vinyl Siding - called Double 4 - color is Wicker. I do not have a digital camera - I take the stills using my sony camcorder - so some of the details may be lost.

Cool, I thought so. Hardi-Plank looks nice, but needs to be painted every 3-5 years or so. Vinyl will be MUCH less maintenence...

Yesterdays pics...was hoping brick to be done, but I have no idea how long it takes to do brick - so I will watch it slowly go up. Lots of inside work getting done (no pics).

Close-up to show brick - color is 'Salem' - pretty sweet.

Back doors and garage doors will be painted to match siding

Almost done bricking...

Well, still not done, but REALLY close to being done now. Front steps put in. Inside they did a ton of stuff - 90% electrical all run, Cable, Phone, Ethernet, alarm - all wired, both Furnaces installed, a lot of duct work in place - amazing how quick this stuff gets done. Any week now the slow down will begin - I am trying to prepare myself for it.
Not too pleased with a handful of the bricks below the window to right of front door and a couple closer to garage. Could not tell up close if they were just dirty or what...I guess it gives it character...either way I have a call into the builder to get his opinion. Never had brick before - hoping it weathers some and blends, plus landscaping will probably be there anyway. I just get annoyed that someone would use defective bricks. Hopefully a good powerwash will cure all.
Nothing changed on the back of the house so no new pics there.

Not sure what they use down here, but every builder we talked to who used hardi-plank anywhere on the house said it needed to be repainted every 3-5 years. Maybe they're painting it on-site, thus a shorter (or no) warranty. Not sure... but I'm not worried b/c we have all brick and my parents went brick and vinyl... so we both stayed away from it completely

Holy crap...LOL...I lived in the Boro from 1990-2001 and went to HHS! I lived over by Woods Rd. school. Your house looks awesome!

Unfortunately, I'm just starting to save for my down payment....I have a LONG ways to go before I can afford anything. Can't wait to get my first house, though.

Great looking house Tbone, I live about half hour away from there.

You mind telling us the price ranges in that development. My guess is somewhere between 650K - 850K.

Base price was from 689 to 732...then you gotta add lot premium (if necessary) and then all the options and fun stuff. For what you get it is very competitive price - just the taxes in HB I hear are horrendous

Wow - pass Woods Rd every time. Yep saving the DP is the hardest part...after that mortgages can sometimes be not much hire than Apt. rent. That is how it was with our first new house...then sold for nice $$ so DP is fortunately not a problem with this one.

Yep...there's no big business there to build a tax base, so it's all on the residents. Sucks big time. Similar thing in Branchburg, where I'm at.

So are you in Country Classics, then? Not sure if they are still building there or if they're done. The older (first) part of that neighborhood is really pretty. I moved from HB before they started building on that farm on Hillsborough Rd, near Steeplechase Manor, but drove by a couple times and saw a sign for a new development, is that where you are? So many developments are going up!
