I am choosing between a Whirlpool (Lowes) and a GE (HomeDepot) water heater. They both are 40 Gallon water heaters that come with 12 year warranty. The GE is $60 cheaper.
Which one would be a better choice? Thanks in advance...

People tend to not like GE but my family has had a lot of appliances from them and they lasted a long time.
My less than 5 year old GE dishwasher's inlet valued almost f'd me though. It broke in the open position, which means that it continued to fill the washer even when power was off. It flooded my kitchen and good thing I was home. I will never run an appliance that uses water unattended again. Unfortunately you have to leave the water heater unattended. Just keep an eye on it and don't let it get much older than 10 years old.
BTW I replaced the value myself for pretty cheap.
