I finally decided no barn, just build a garage. It's going to be a 3 car attached (via breezeway) garage w/ storage space off to one side and a shed roof off the back. Any idea how much I can expect to spend per square foot to have this built? I'm guessing 50/sq. foot but someone told me 75 which would put my garage at around 65K no way am I spending that kinda cash. Simple garage, wall board, insulated, electricity, shouldn't be too bad, right???

 

I am in California, so I can not do a direct cost comp, but I am building a 3 car garage (40'*26') with a storage room (inside the garage)and a utility room (11'*12') that will connect house and the garage. Insulated, three car-doors, lap-siding, two dormers all for $42,500. I had estimates as high as $75K. I doubt that NY cost are any higher then CA.

 

Even in NY, 75/sq ft is high man, that sounds a little off.

My cousin has about what you want, minus the shed roof, and his ran about 40k. It was done really well, full insulation, 3 windows, beautiful enclosed breezeway.

Have you talked to any general contractors yet? And is the breezeway going to be attached to an existing door, or is that going to be part of the project.
Is the land level, or will this require a decent amount of leveling and concrete? Also depends on how the architecture will match with the existing building.
