The floor is all done!!!

As you can see, the floor is all done. It took 2 guys from 8:30am until 4:30pm and I love it. It actually makes me like my place all over again!!!

The laminate was on sale at Menards for 41.99 a box (I bought 20, but returned 2), and I bought the quarter round and acoustic padding for $1265, but since I returned 2 boxes it was really $1165. It was $550 for the install and I gave each of the guys $20 a piece to get lunch.

Grand total $1755-ish

For certain things (bedroom and dining room sets)....yes. That tv stand was $269....the lamps were $69 a piece. Those are walmart/target prices.

Looks really good. I guess you didn't need the extra boxes afterall.

So where did you find the installers? Your original quotes were WAY over that and you were considering installing yourself.

Also - where did you get that mantel? I'm looking for something similar.

Edit: I saw your post on where the guys came from. Great deal. Still curious about the matel.

The mantel was in the place when I bought it. BUT....I have seen similar ones all over the place.

Its a little "echoy", but its not bad. The guy below me says he can't hear anything....so I guess that blue padding is good for blocking sound transmission....
