Post Finally uploaded interior shots of the house...

I mean, it's only been 10 months... right?

Below are some teaser shots. It's tough b/c I can never get an angle that gets the whole room in the picture. So, for example, the shot of the kitchen below... the morning bay is on the left, and the fridge and planning center are on the right. So I can only get like 60% of the kitchen in any one shot. I think I just suck at taking pictures. What's also funny is that I took the pics in late October (as you can see by the little pumpkins and such), and things have changed a bit already... so I'll have to get some updated pics this weekend, plus I need to take some shots of the Master Bedroom.

Also keep in mind I haven't added any comments yet to the pics, so hopefully you'll be able to follow the flow of the house using the order I put the pics in.

To see the rest, go to www.juniorbean.net --> Houses --> Current Home --> Inside.

Enjoy

View from the front of the house by the entrance, straight through the house...

View from the catwalk of the back wall of the house showing the paladium windows and french doors out to the deck...

View of some of the kitchen. Colors look a little washed out for some reason b/c the kitchen is nice shiny Cherry... but you can get the idea

Very nice. Very, very, very traditional, but very nice.

I have to say I'm a bit surprised by the decor... knowing your age and your otherwise rather modern tastes.

I always thought juniorbean was in his early 30s?

Either way everything looks great. I love wide open spaces.

Haha, no, my wife is 2 years, 10 months younger then me. We went to contract when I was 27 and she was 25. When we closed last March 31st, I was 28, she was 26.

I definitely have modern tastes, but the wife isn't so big on modern... so we compromise. She pretty much pics everything out, but if I don't like it, we don't get it. So she gets to be somewhat traditional, but I like the cherry's as opposed to those other traditional lighter finishes, so that's our half-way point (more or less). The only room that will end up being somewhat modern besides for the garage will be the bonus room. But, as you can see in the pics there's a blank wall there with the pre-wired surround-sound just waiting for a TV.... but with the pool and everything, that has taken a back seat. The goal for this year is to get a projector in there and to eventually hang that Killian's sign ... so we'll see.

We tried to decorate all of the "public" rooms first, which is why most of the bedrooms are pretty empty right now. When I get shots of our bedroom, you'll see even more what i mean. Right now we have a king bed, one of my old dressers, and two rooster folding/tray tables as end tables!! Hey, no one is in there except us... so no rush to decorate it when the money can go to the pool

Nice place! I especially like the kitchen!

Whats up with the dining room table? Its centered under the lighting but not between the pillars. That would annoy the crap out of me

That place is huge.

Wouldn't annoy you if you did it like that on purpose . If you notice, the dining room is very open, so there's only one wall to put a breakfront, or in our case... a bar. If the light was centered with the middle pillar, then there would be no room to have chairs on the wall side (well, the chairs could be there but you couldn't pull them out). So we had the light moved a little off-center to allow the table to be centered under the chandelier, but not perfectly centered with the pillars to allow room for a piece of furniture on that wall. I think the angle of the photo exaggerates it though b/c it's only slightly off center and it's hardly noticable (except in said photo).

Not really. Sun comes directly through for about 1.5 hours a day.. which is great b/c it warms up the house and no need for heat until night time. In the summer the sun is higher in the sky, so it hardly comes through the windows at all and just lets in a lot of natural light. Works out perfect for all seasons

Nothing wrong with sunlight in a house. If its too much you put up blinds. If its not enough though, you are SOL.

haha, no... house is too new to be on a show like that... but we would love to get on one of their shows to get some decorating ideas in the bedroom.

Actually my neighbors sent in a video audition for some new show called Design Star and they got called last weekend to be notified that they moved up into the next round. That would be cool if they got in, especially b/c I was in the video... so I may have to be on the show

Yeah, it is kind of traditional, and the wife went with the light upholstry to make sure it looked traditional . The inlays on it are so sweet, and it's really a nice set. If we could do it again we would probably not go the same route. It was a mistake to buy from Thomasville, b/c we spend all this money and now we're afraid to even eat on it...

beautiful. i prefer the traditional look to modern in a large house like that. modern style seems more fitting in a city row home or condo.

you should invest in some nice oriental rugs; you need something under that dining room table IMO.

Yeah, rugs are on the to do list... just pretty far down . We'll be getting rugs eventually. The rug in the great room now we got free since we bought two couch/loveseat/chair and one table set plus the bar from the same place... so that's just there for now. Eventually there will be a nice large rug there and an oriental in the dining room... but everything costs money, and rugs are low on the list

OK cool - cause in the pics it is totally fing up watching any TV that time of day. Beware of furniture fade as well...you'll see in a year or two. But looking at the windows - not much you can do - too nice to cover with blinds. Maybe not so bad if only short time of day.

Yeah, it's not that long, and in the summer it doesn't come through directly. The entertainment center does get hit, but only for a bit. We'll be tinting the windows either this year or next to block some of the UV Rays also...

Thanks

If you go to my actual website, I have pictures of all 4 bathrooms. The master bath probably has the most pics. They're not the greatest b/c it's tough to get the whole bathroom in one shot... but you should be able to get the idea

hahahahahhaha. That's funny... especially when there were a handful of replies earlier in the topic asking if we got too much light in the house, plus we don't need to use any lights (lamps, overhead, etc) until sunset... even on cloudy days. It's also why pictures come out dark...
