Fiber optic ceiling illumination

Has anyone here done it?

Seems to me it's easy but labor/time intensive. I'd love to do it for the home theater or maybe a bedroom but that'll depend on the ceiling.

just keep in mind that fiber lighting is used for accent only and does not supply enough lumens to actually light up a room.

Yeah, it's purely for decorative purposes. My wife really wants me to install it in the theater.

Something like below? Seems kinda cheesy for a bedroom but maybe a theater. I attached a link I found real quick that seems to imply it isn't hard and while I agree, it def seems to be time consuming.

Oh, was it Tiger that had like neon or fiber in his bedroom, looked like an hourly hotel

Thats the general idea. For a bedroom my wife wanted them to be very faint and small, basically like looking at the stars. I wish I could find the picture she had, it was done very tastefully.

Get her one that does a simulated fireworks display.

Or make sure that somewhere buried in the pattern you can flash "BOOM GOES THE DYNAMITE".

Just throw a mirror on the ceiling

I like it, but in the pic 1stGen posted, it seems a little too much I'd like to see the one your wife has.

I'd think that'd be a massive pain in the ass when it came time to paint the ceiling again.

Damn that looks good! But on a popcorn ceiling? Meh.

Just paint over it!

Priced it out, I figure around 500 for a larger bedroom. Time is the main factor.

Ok, your video looks wayyy better then I could have imagined. Price doesn't seem to out of control but I think you're right, it would take forever. Go for it and take lots of pics
