Anyone have one installed on their furnace? I've been going back and forth between one of those and a mdeia cleaner, which is a 4" think filter.

Unless someone in your house has a severe allergy problem I can't see how the cost of either would be worth it over sticking with a 1" Filtrete filter.

What is the cost difference between the electronic and 4"? Those 4" filters are $30 online so I would imagine that the electronic would save you money over time.

 

My parents have had electronic air filters for as long as I can remember, easily 20+ years. They work great and you just throw them in the dishwasher every now and then to clean them.

It really help with the allergies, especially here in Oregon. It did cause us an arm and a leg. We also have an Ionic Breeze in the house. If you and/or your family have allergies then I recommend it.

 

We use a 4" filter at the HVAC unit and a 1" filter at the main air inlet. Change the 4" filter once a year and change the 1" filter every 400 hours of the fan running.
