Question Coffee maker

I am looking to get a coffee maker with a grinder. I just want one that can do single cups, since everyone in my house gets up at different times. I know NOTHING about coffee makers, so if some of you can share what kind you have and briefly say what the features are, it will be very much appreciated.
thank you!

You won't see very many households in Switzerland without an automatic espresso machine...here in the US people buy their coffee at Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks or whatever the place is, in Europe you either make it at home or go to the local cafe.

I'm sure you'll find what your looking for at espressoplanet.com

We have always had Jura espresso machines...it might be more than what your looking for though. But check out the sight

It looks like you are looking for a basic coffee pot but it seems like the pod system thing maybe good for you. I have a super expensive espresso machine and a basic grinding coffee pot but love the simplicity of my gf's pod thing.

I hit sbux every morning because i dont want to deal with my coffee pot but hers you just pop a pod in and in less then a minute you have your coffee brewed in your mug and no clean up. You put water in it once a week and throw the pod away. Only downside is it seems really wasteful with all the plastic you throw away but...

no...its not a grinder/maker combo.

Kuerig makes coffee based on a single size "cups" You buy s a box of the kind of coffe/tea/cocoa you want.

You can also buy your own "cup" that allows you to use whatever coffee/tea/cocoa you want to use in addition to the providers that have signed on to make the cups.

Just buy the grinder seperately if you really need one.

Browse their lists and see all the different brands and styles they carry.

Nespresso makes good single cup machines

Again....they have a cup so you go and buy whatever the hell you want and make it.

You are in no way resigned to using only their branded cups.

And the cups arent that expensive.

Again...Nespresso as I mentioned, you can only use their capsules which tends to get expensive if you drink a lot of coffee

How is the cleanup with the kuerig (using your own grind) as compared to the 'gold mesh' filter in a standard 12 cup?

its a little cup size filter made with a metallic mesh that you pop and wash real fast in the sink. I always use it to make korean green tea.

That's cool. As long as it makes 'good' tasting coffee from the grind I buy (Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Costa Rican), I am happy.

I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew that I am not all that thrilled with. It has eight pieces to clean and it is a blade grinder instead of a burr grinder. I thought it would be nice to have it all in one, but you lose all the convenience when it comes time to clean it. Next time I will just get a real burr grinder and a nice thermal carafe drip brewer. I really just want something basic to brew coffee (not espresso) but I like to use whole beans so the coffee stays fresher since I only use it on the weekends.
