Damn, nice work. When are you planning on moving in? Did you have problems with the granite tiles? I helped a friend do it and what a pain, in the end we both thought it would have been a lot easier and not terribly more expensive to do a slab yours appears to be good tho

oh we moved in back in Septemeber 2010. Only things that arent finished are the master bath and the basement. So we have just been using our other bathroom primarily. Cant wait to finally use the master bath though. Should be using it by this weekend. I'll snap some pictures of everything we have finished this weekend.

As for the granite, the only problem I really had was destroying the diamond saw blades. I think we went through 3 or 4 of them on the tile saw. Its been good to us for the past year but I'm starting to get tired of the joints and having to clean stuff out of them. So I'm going to do concrete slab countertops in August. Thanks for the compliments though

Don't know how I overlooked this. But yes we sealed the joints. Sealed the granite too. In addition to getting stuff in the joints (that doesnt bother me too much), with the color/pattern granite we chose, its hard to see crumbs and stuff. I think next time we will just go with a slab

Here are a few pics of the basement before we started working on it. I'll take some progress pics tonight to show what we've done.

Some updated pics of what my father and I have done

We sprayed the popcorn/sound dampening ceiling this Sunday. I'll take pics of that tonight.

Sorry for the crooked cell phone pics. When I buy a camera I plan on taking better pics.

More work was completed after these pictures. But all that is left to be done is to finish mudding and sanding the walls. i'll probably use an hour a day after work to do that. Prime the walls, create my projector screen, paint, and lay the carpet and hardwood. Looking foward to finally getting this complete.

Any questions about anything feel free to ask.

looking good! awesome work so far.

Are those cutouts in the drywall in the first updated pic for an entertainment center? How are you going to access the back of the equipment for wiring?

Any thoughts on redoing the brick wall fireplace? I had something similar at my house. i knocked it out and drywalled over most of it and added just a fireplace simple and small fireplace mantel.

Also, how'd you get an accord to 285whp?

Good luck on all the work your doing.

Thanks! Yes those cut outs are for the entertainment center. There is a storage area back there where I have run all of my wiring, so I can go back there and access all the wiring without having a bird's nest of wiring everywhere.

I actually never thought about taking out the brick but thats a good idea! I might just go ahead and do that. Thanks for the advice!

The stock 8th gen Accord V6 just had a really powerful motor. I dynoed 240whp when I first got it with only a CAI. Once I added Richies cats deletes and long tube jpipe I got to 285whp. With an aftermarket catback I may have cracked 295whp. Wish I still had that car but I needed to get a car with a lower payment, which ironically was the RL LOL

Some pictures. I'll be adding more tonight or tomorrow.

I have a couple of pics of some little touches that I made.

Finished trimming the HVAC room bi folds

Cut and trimmed out an access door/crawl space for under the stairs, also test fit the oak pole coverings that I'm going to stain to match the bar

Put some crown up to cowver the gap between the ceiling and the fireplace. Ceiling is also completed along with celing speakers and recessed light trim

Picture of the projector ceiling mount, hdmi plate, and gfi power outlet

Coming closer to completion! Excuse the cell phone pics, I need a new digital cam. This weekend I plan on cleaning up, finishing the staining of the bar, adding the bar top, cleaning the fireplace up, adding trim around the back speakers, adding door knobs, adding a couple more dimmer switches, adding some preforated black board behind the entertainment cubbies, and painting the crawl space access door.

There are a couple of little things that Id like to change, like making the gaps between entertainment cubbies even and so on but other than that I am pretty damn content with what my father and I were able to accomplish by ourselves. Every single thing except for the carpet was done by ys, including electrical, making the screen, entertainment hookup etc. 100% original ideas. My father already has his own business so we are considering creating a subsidiary for creating home theaters.

I'd polish those skripper poles.. don't want to give the fine ladies splinters.

We were actually making strippers getting splinters jokes all night But those posts we wrapped in the wood pole wrap material you see. They come with a top and bottom cap which give it a column like look.(not on yet) Since we were a bit limted on space we didn't want the columns too big and overwhelming the space. We still need to stain them and put a poly coat on them which will give them that smooth look and feel for splinter less stripper activity

The bar and poles will be stained the same color. Will probably tackle that this weekend and get the bar top and finish hooking up the wet bar. I'll see if I can borrow my cousin's DSLR to take some photos worth looking at.

Thanks for all of the compliments everyone!
