That looks awesome and no I bought it. Originally, it was $4-500, if I recall correctly but I got it on clearance for like $35 so....can't complain too much. I replaced the lava rocks with glass and that actually cost more than the whole table I've stripped the table and repainted but it is just disintegrating.

Whelp, I suck and never took pics but found some old ones. Don't mind the fire table that I need to replace.
I should have sealed the wood...
Wires are for the speakers on the house, which have since been hooked up. Almost bought a bigger TV this weekend and when I do, I'll paint the wall black so it blends better.

Spent about half an hour going through this thread. Seems like I missed a lot over the years dude!
I really...REALLY...REALLLYYYYYYY need to convince the wife to move down to NC and get more land once we're settling down. I really like NJ (honestly, no one would ever say that), but I really need more land. And it's a dream of mine to have land like that and a space for me to work in my garage.
Honestly, for the price we paid for our new home in NJ, we probably would be sitting on a pretty nice piece of land. BUT....career comes first.

Yeah I have always wanted a piece of land so I have seperation from my neighbors and space to work. You could definitely find a lot more land down here for what you are paying up there that is for sure. So find the wife a job down here and get packing

Went crazy with Christmas lights this year. 6000 mini bulbs in total. Had to even balance them out on my two outside breakers by using a long extension cord to get to the rear of the house for some of them.
Also got some additional pallets from work lately from a new order we got in. Will be using them to build some Adirondack chairs for around my firepit. Just have to figure out the plans I want to go with.

^ Careful with the nails on those. They'll ruin blades really fast. Make sure you run over each board with a magnet to find any embedded crap.

I will get to this stuff at some point. I can't stock up on anymore wood at this point. I just need to start building stuff as I have no more storage for it. Should be a cold winter doing it outside.

I am not going to fire pit good wood for building stuff. I have plenty of firewood. Might actually setup a TV outside tonight and trial my idea for an outdoor TV by the firepit using my garage TV on a table. Been due for a fire and tonight should be a great night.

He likes building stuff and is good at it, let him have at it. Also, it would be very expensive to ship an adirondack chair from MN to NC lol.
Appreciate the advice. Never thought of going over the boards with a magnet.

I have the same problem though, can't stock up on more wood until I get some of my current stuff out the door. Too cold to work right now though.
If you want any parts CNC'ed for your chairs, bar, patio, whatever, let me know and I can do that for you!

Yeah, I guarantee you there's a ton of shit in that wood that you can't see. Even if you get the nails out, there are probably nails with the heads trimmed off under the surface, staples, rocks, etc all kinds of shit buried in there. Pallet wood is good in that it has a lot of character but it's some of the shittiest would to mill. I'll be hard on saw blades and absolute hell on planer knives.

So you have access to a CNC machine? What thickness of metal can you do with it? I might have to get in touch with you to get some vent covers made to finally finish off my kegorator.

These pallets are brand new one time use pallets so hopefully they shouldn't have all those extra nails in them but I will be sure to check them with a magnet. They are used to ship datacenter cabinets from the company so only one cabinet per pallet is used and they are specially built for the cabinet with hardware to bolt the cabinet to the pallet. Also think that is why they are so much more heavy duty than regular shipping pallets.

I have my own CNC machine in my garage now. I'm not sure what I can do for metal but it'll cut wood/plastic like a champ. I'm told I can do aluminum and brass but I'm not sure I'm ready to test my luck with that yet. Could definitely make some HDPE vent covers that will look the part just fine.

Hmm you can cut wood with it. Never thought of doing the vents out of wood possibly. Always originally was trying to match my stainless steel drip tray.

Edit: I can do pretty much anything provided it fits within a 16"x16"x4" box, not just vent covers. Just wanted to make that clear.

Well since we already got someone suggesting the biggest TV ever I will give you a little of my experience with doing this outside. I have had both a 43in and now a 50in outside on my back porch. The 50in replaced the 43in only cause someone else complained it was too small of a TV to watch sports on. Who am I to argue with a woman saying we need a larger TV. That being said the thing I looked for most is a bright TV that has great viewing angles. An outdoor TV most likely will be watched at from more odd angles than an indoor TV depending on your deck size. I would go 43in minimum but I do love my 50in but mainly cause it is a better picture quality than the old 43in. All that being said I am probably putting a 55in out at my fire pit because 55in TVs go on sale more than 50in TVs anymore so you can get a better TV at the same or cheaper price than the 50in version a lot of time. Right now there is a great deal on a TCL55R615 at best buy for $499. Really tempting to snag it for the project.

Said someone that complained still has only watched TV outside with me about 5 times in the year and 3 months since I upgraded the TV.
