black light switches?!

I can't seem to find black light switches anywhere. We just got granite backsplashes put in and want to use black light switches, simple standard design, just in black. Lowes had one model but it wasn't that great. I looked online, but only find designer switches in black. Anyone know a good resource? TIA

I thought you had some velvet posters you wanted to show off properly.

Are the ones at Lowes that bad? Those or the ones at Home Depot should work fine, unless you're looking for something specific.

Home Depot doesn't have any. Lowes has one kind, which doesn't look like their white/almond/brown switches, they leave a gap between the switch and the plate.

I can't tell the difference between the black and the white looking online. Maybe the one you looked at was bad?

The difference is the border around the switch. As you see here, this residential switch has the nice border around the switch, so it fits nice through the plate.

Lowes only has the commercial style switch in black, and has no border, so there is a gap where the plate and the switch meet.

I like these. I was thinking about getting them for our bathrooms since the walls are painted a darker shade of gray.

Ah, you're planning on using the standard switches. I thought you might be looking for the "decorator" switches.

I'll ask my boss though, he might know something.

I would love to, but there are other switches in the area that are the standard switch, so I figured I would be consistent.

Standard switches are ugly. Get decorator style.

Buy the standard Cooper brand from Lowes... or go with their higher end Aspire line ("granite grey" rather than pure black).

If you're worried about being consistent with your other switches than replace them with decorator style too. You can buy a box of 20 white decorator style rockers for under $1/pc.

I didn't think people used the stadard switches for homes any more. The only exception might be for the garbage disposal.

The disposal is just one of those things that I don't want people confusing for a light switch.

That or Lutron. Lutron has black ones (along with other colors)
