Armadillos

Anyone got any good ways to get rid of armadillos that dig up my back yard?

I guess, in an ass-ugly type of way.

They're digging up my yard. I just might try pissing in the yard, in addition to cayenne pepper and coyote piss.

Hey, you just said you wanted the armadillos gone. If you want me to worry about trivial things like plants, grass, houses, and assorted body parts and/or potential survivability, you should have said so to start with.

Also, I never said you'd retain the ability to reproduce.

WTF! $499 for an initial trapping? Are you serious?!

Anyone want to play Carl Spackler for two weeks? I'll pay $10 an armadillo.

That's insane. You can buy your own trap for far less and the only risk you run is trapping in your area might require a license, so if you get caught you get a fine.

I have decided on a course of action.

1.) Get this for my dog to prevent her from being bit by mosquitos.

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1...atalogId=10053

2.) Leave dog outside at night.

3.) Buy two to three traps and bait using worms in a silk stocking.

4.) Relocate armadillos 12 miles away.

They roll into a ball for defense. Pick up ball and punt it into your neighbors yard.
Problem solved

By firing them out to sea from a cannon?

You should try to get some videos of them jumping straight up in the air.

If I can trap the little bastards, I will take pics. They're stupid and wander around, like Water-S or StonedCL.

hahaha and then I read NSX's response, epic!

My mom has them at her farm and they dig so many holes. We are always worried the horses will get a leg in one and break a leg. Some say it is illegal but most shoot them...

I put up a 16" tall wire fence in the back of my yard where it borders the preserve, and it seems to have foiled the little bastards for now. Of course, my wife said she heard strange sounds the night that I put it up, and she said the sounds were sounds of laughter from the armadillos coming from the preserve.

She's a funny woman.

We used to use a .22 with rat shot for varmits. Doesn't break the skin, but it makes a hell of a welt and they don't usually come back.
