Anyone own a sofabed?

Wife wants to to buy a sofabed for guests to use. Anything to look out for? Anyone purchase one from Jennifer Convertibles?

I have one and it's only been used once. It's heavy as shit to move around and the mattress is about 3" thick. Pretty much on par with every one I've ever seen or slept on.

x 4.
We have one now as part of a living room set. Sofabeds generally have matresses which are nowhere near firm, while the $20-$50 inflatable beds from Target, WalMart or sporting goods stores are really pretty comfy. We have a couple of those for camping and for guests-- they are much better to sleep on than the sofabed.

In fact, sofabeds are easier to sleep on closed as sofas than when opened up as beds.

There are great if you don't want the guests to stay long.

Remind me to keep the inflatable air beds in the closet when the in-laws come by.

Thanks for the advice I think she can be talked into the air mattress. We saw a few of them at Walmart tonight and some of them look really nice.

IMO, it's a waste of money. Get a good inflatable, or a futon for the basement.

I stayed at my buddies place for 3 days this week on a air mattress that has a frame built in, it was very comfortable, and the pump is built right into the unit which is very convienent. I think for the queen it was 199.

My mom bought this awesome mattress for the sofa bet my parents own. It's an air mattress plus sofa mattress in one. You fold out the sofa bed then inflate the air part. It's VERY comfortable.

I believe this is it:

So, if you do get a sofa bed...check out a good mattress. The standard sofa bed mattresses are "teh sukcs".

I had a queen sized, double height one I scored at walmart about 3 or 4 years ago...it slept solid and came with its own electric pump... I slept on it for about 3 months... then I gave it to a friend about 2 years ago... I think it was a coleman brand...
