Any plumbers here?
I have a dilemma here and wanted to see if anyone here would have a solution....
I was changing out the valves for the washing machine in the laundry room and I was removing one of the gate valves. Well, the damn thing slipped and fell into the laundry room drain. Does anyone have any ideas how to get it out without cutting into the wall and cutting the pipe up?
Does this washer drain have an "s" curve at the bottom like what you would see on a regular sink?
Any help would be appreciated.

There should be a trap in the drain, else your house fills up with sewer gas.
Maybe some kind of a magnet on a string can get it out?
*note to sell, cover drain when working on this stuff. I would have never even thought about something like that happening.

Try a shop vac. You might get lucky if you have enough power. You will get the water from the trap, and it will stink, but you will get your washer...
Make sure you pour water back in the trap after you are done.
